Two things - Kellybigboobs (what a great name) - I am short, very short, so that may explain why I get stuck for ages at a certain weight.

Consultant31, I have managed to lose a few pounds recently but seem to be stuck again. I keep thinking though, I am eating healthily 95% of the time and I am keeping the weight off and I am now in my healthy weight range, so I just don't want my life to become based on what the scales say.

For instance the other day I was with a friend who fancied fish and chips. I felt panicky as I knew it was not the greatest thing to eat. However, when I thought about it - it has been over two years since I ate fish and chips. So I had the fish (no I did not remove the batter) and just a couple of the chips.

This week I have followed the plan - don't know if I lost any weight as I am unable to attend class this week, but I am just going to take it in steps and if I get that last bit of weight off, all well and good. If not, I really feel so much better in myself and more importantly in control of what I want to achieve, not what I think I should achieve, as I just put myself under pressure that way.

I am chuffed to bits:j :j WI tonight and I lost the 1.5 lbs I needed to lose and have now lost 1 STONE!! That's taken me 10 weeks. I have also lost 5" off my waist - I know this because I wear the same jeans and belt each week for WI and it's now in the 6th hole and it was on the LAST when I joined:o :o. I wish I had taken other measurements as well now!

I bought some new jeans yesterday (next size down and think I might have even got in 2 sizes down but I didn't want a fat roll hanging over the waistband.)

Angielikesveg - I see Consultant agrees with me that cutting out bread for a week might help. I had a slice of bread last week and OMG did it affect me badly. I ate it around 7.30 pm one evening and by bedtime I felt quite ill. I went to sleep and woke up after about an hour almost feeling like I was choking. I felt terrible! I cannot believe how much better I feel without it and I'd rather go without now than feel like I did .... AND I'm losing weight!;)

Well done Penny, I have lost just over 1 stone, and it's great as people are now telling me they can really tell I have lost weight :j

In fact, a couple of people have told me not to lose much more as I will start to look scrawny -chance would be a fine thing, I am 5 ft 3 ins and still weigh 11 st 10 lbs

I used to be a size 18, so bought a 16's but they are literally falling off me :j

It's great isn't it Charlies_Mum?! When my old jeans got too big that not even a belt would hold them up a bought a new cheap pair from Tesco that I could barely do up - tonight I managed to pull them down without undoing the button! Great feeling!
  • Ooh, well done Pennylane, that's great! And also to others doing well or not gaining too much  !

I got very hungry this afternoon and boy am I miserable when I'm hungry! :o For lunch today I took 1 unit as a tsp of oil to make a salad dressing and in retrospect that unit might have been better used on an apple about 4pm! This is my day's food:

    B - 1/2 grapefruit, 2 weetabix, 200ml skimmed milk, 6oz raspberries

L - 8oz melon, 1 tomato, celery, cucumber, salad leaves, 1.5oz feta cheese and that misguided tsp of olive oil mixed with balsamic vinegar (can be used freely) plus 2 breadsticks

T - 2oz pasta and sauce made with a small onion, 7oz tinned chopped tomatoes, 6 button mushrooms, 1/2 pepper, 1 medium courgette, 2 sticks celery and mixed herbs. Also a Cadburys light chocolate mousse - yes I did practically lick out the inside of the pot!!!

I was very impressed when my temporary stand in consultant phoned me tonight to check how I was getting on. Not sure whether my usual one would have done, may be changing classes shortly...

    Hello SW thread!

I joined last night and am an absolute Newbie, never tried SW before.
Tried WW but with not much motivation.
Enjoyed the group aspect last night - it really has encouraged me to get started, but today all I have done is think about food... Is this normal? I have been stuffing fruit in all morning, had porridge this morning. Drinking lots of water.
Maybe its an adjustment thing as I have been on the website working out the syns for my favourite foods.

Good luck for people with weigh ins today!

Well done Skint Catt and Charlie's Mum !!:T Charlie's Mum - I am a good couple of stones on top of you actually!:o

It does work this eating plan, if you get into it. Someone said to me the other day "I bet you're starving" but I can honestly say I never, ever am. I think I eat more quantity than I did in the past.
