    Hi all

Haven't been on here for a while so i have a lot to catch up on:confused:

Had WI this morning and have put on 3lb after finding out yesterday that our second attempt and fertility treatment hadn't worked..had a bit of pig out yesterday but am now back on track. I'm going on holiday a week tomorrow and i'd really like to shift the 3lbs so i'd really like some tips on good speed foods to munch on. i'll be doing a meal planner for the week and going shopping tomorrow so any ideas would be great. thankyou:beer:

Strawberries and melon are good speed foods, I have a hugebowl of them with very low fat natural yogurt for breakfast if I have been bad the day before. Also lots and lots of water!

 oh MRS E,you poor thing.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: big hugs and don't worry about yesterdays little munch out, that was then and FO and SW was the last thing on your mind.i know if it was me i'd still be stuck in the fridge and i'd have a massive hangover too!well done to you for getting focused again so quickly.as for tips,i'm pretty rubbish really but i do think lots of liquids (not wine unfortunately:D ) really does do wonders to 'flush you out' as our peachy says.also i know if i avoid yeasty things (bread/wine/beer/even marmite amd mushrooms) for a few days my stomach flattens out so i FEEL slimmer no matter what the scales say!:p

    HTH

Obviously using the packet mixes are high in syns, what are the alternatives if you don't have time to cook from scratch? Sorry I'm not being lazy, I work two jobs and don't have much time to cook!! LOL

Also what about normal spices like southern spices the swartez ones?? Do they have a syn value?

    Thanks

Remember that those values or PER PACKET or PER JAR, not per person, and one packet or jar will usually do a good 3 or 4 servings

I like using packet mixes. I'd rather go without chocolate, biscuits or crisps during the day and then make my main meal really tasty.

kelly :A , have you thought about going to your doctors and seeing if you can get it done on the national health ?
My friend loss 6 stone and was so down and depressed about trying everything to get her tummy flat , but it was the lose skin that wouldn't go ,that got to her the most .
She went to her local doctor and just broke down crying she was that depressed bless her , he sent her to see speiclist at the local hospital and she had to waite 6 months , she got it done .
So think about seeing your local doctor kelly its worth a try hun , peachy x/quote]

thanks peachy:A ,i have thought about it but my sister put me off saying i'm being vain, what about the kids if it goes wrong and such like.not sure i could produce tears on demand either as although it certainly does get me down,i wouldn't say i was properly depressed about it (though i certainly have been in the past) and i'm worried the doc will just tell me to lose weight and do some sit ups - like everyone else who's never actually had the c sections themselves or seen the results!maybe when i get the extra weight off again i'll feel better?my oh thinks i'm some kind of goddess, bless him,but also has the same attitude as your hubby, get it done if it makes me happy.then,of course, i worry about the dangers and not being there for my kids over a stupid op,or what if something goes wrong and i end up looking even worse, you read the horror stories about surgery all the time, etc, etc, etc!!!maybe when the kids are older and i feel less guilty about being selfish.....
kelly your not being vain , i had a c section when i had my son at 28 weeks , he weighed 2lb , but i hadn't put on that much weight as its the last three month you put most of the weight on , so iv'e only got a little scare , i was luck to have my son here and to of only put on just under a stone .
But kelly you don't have to go to your doctor in bits , just go and see what he say about you getting it done , and what it entails , i would , your only asking  , and things have changed so much now

    PM'ed you

    Well, I am DELIGHTED because I lost a whopping 7lb - yes, SEVEN - this week :j :j :j

Although to be fair, I did go in the evening last week instead of 10am because it was Bank holiday, and put on 1lb last week, so in reality I've lost 6lb over 2 weeks, but still very pleased. I only need 1lb to get my Club 10 and 1.5lb for 2 stone.

The person who got Slimmer of the Week "only" lost 1.5lb though   but she didnt stay for the meeting so I got the Goodie box. 2 oranges, 2 apples, 60p in loose change, a bag of Ryvita minis and a tin of pilchards in tomato sauce. And I'd put the pilchards in myself - won them last time I was SotW and can't stand them! They'll be going back next week :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
    big big bigweldone you tractor girl:j :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T , what a fab loss , your a real star:staradmin :staradmin :staradmin :staradmin :staradmin :staradmin :staradmin :staradmin :staradmin :staradmin thats half a stone , go girl :T :T , peachy x

MADDY - the packet syn values are misleading as they serve up to 4 people (in theory anyway!) so you can at least halve the syns.

a slow cooker is the best thing if you don't have alot of time.just prep your veg/meat/pulses the night before, pop in the fridge then chuck into the slow cooker (add any dried herbs/free seasoning you fancy - fresh stuff is best added towards the end of cooking to retain its flavour more) whilst you're making your morning cuppa.leave on lowest setting depending how long you will be out of the house, get home, boil spuds/rice/pasta or grill meat/fish/quorn,et voila - dinner for lots of people!

you can pick up new slow cookers quite cheaply or try freecycle, also they are very energy efficient compared to using ovens and gas hobs.be warned though, once you get used to slow cooking its addictive.i have to MAKE myself use the oven sometimes!
