i've got a slow cooker and do use it quite regularly, not as much as I should
as I get home from work at midnight and then shower and right to bed, get up at 6.50 and then out the door by 7.30. Maybe I should start getting up earlier!! LOL

Its only me and OH so I'm quite pleased that I can then still use the packets and half the syns!

oh dear TMD that really doesn't leave much time for preparation, does it?!don't know what to sugget really, apart from campaigning for more hours in the day!!!perhap you could use the ready chopped stew packs and meat.would get a bit boring quickly though i think.or maybe just use half the pack if there's only 2 of you?by the sounds of it you should be skinny as a rake working all those hours.do you have alot of weight to lose?
    :T:jHalf a stone off,only another 2 to go!:j:T

thanks for the samosa recipe ANGIE LOVES VEG,think i'll make those tomorrow.and lots of free curry and rice too.

been feeling a bit flat today, don't know why, just one of those days i suppose....

    been doing green today,so:
    B-bacon sarnie (heb x 2)
L-tinned macaroni cheese (12 syns:eek: ) plus more cheese! (hea)
D-nearly the same as TG,quorn sausage stew from a frozen slow cooker batch with carrot and swede mash and 'fried' tinned new pots
SNACKS-none cos don't fancy fruit and wasted all my syns on mac cheese!
    DRINKS-tea/skimmed milk(hea)/squash/water
not a great FO day really but at least i've stuck to the plan when usually if i was having a low day i would have reached for the wine!:D

got the gym tomorrow, feeling a little nervous:o .hope i like it cos i really do need to up my physical activity level.it's basically zero at the moment so even just walking to the gym will be an improvement!!!

PS - has anybody here ever used a CURVES gym?i'd be really interested in your experiences if you'd care to share them.

    hi everybody,
ive been thinking of joining slimming world for a while now, and ive finally made the phonecall to my local consultant today. she was very nice and i have to go in tommorow to join and have my first weigh in.
I have an illness (lupus) and i have been put on a high dose of steroids (prednislone) recently and within six months i have put one 2 stone.

the last time i was on them, i gained 4 stone, but i lost it all as i came off them.
it seems i will be on the steroids long term now, so instead of letting the weight pile on, i thought i better do something about it. with slimming world, i can hopefully control the weight and slowly lose the weight that i put on, because if i dont, i wil probably end up piling on another 2 stone in no time.

its great to hear success stories from others, and it gives me the motivation to do it. i thinks it great that theres somewhere to talk about it, where you can get support from others outside your weekly weigh in.

i look forward to reading more tips from others and finding out how they are getting along with the diet.:o

sorry for the delay with this recipe (been out all day) - it may be too late for some of you now :o It is a bit of a fiddle, but they are REALLY yummy, and they freeze very well too (before the cooking stage)

    abridged from SW Curry Feast

    Makes 18 (although I got 24)
    green - 1 syn each
    red - 2 syns each

    1 tbsp mild curry powder
1 tsp amchoor (dried mango powder) - makes it 'tangy' you could leave this out, but it is better with
    400g potatoes, boiled, crushed (mashed)
    110g peas
    4tbsp chopped coriander leaves
    1 fresh red chilli, chopped
3 (or 4) large sheets filo (each sheet makes 6)

frylight on non stick frying pan over medium heat. add the curry powder, amchoor, potatoes and peas, stir fry for 4 - 5 mins. add the coriander and chilli, season with salt, set aside to cool.

heat oven to 190/ gas 5

lay out your filo - work quickly! keep unused filo under a tea towel (etc) so they don't dry out

cut filo in half widthways. then cut each half into 3 even strips lengthways, giving a total of 6 pieces per sheet.

lightly spray your first strip with frylight. add a tsp of filling at the bottom of the strip, and fold the pastry diagonally to enclose the filling and make a triangle. fold the filled triangle over and over again until you get to the end of the strip. This is actually easy to do, but impossible to explain!!

repeat with all remaining strips and filling.

freeze at this stage if wanted.

place the parcels in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment (etc). spray the samosa with frylight and bake for 15-20 mins or until golden brown and crisp.

    serve warm.
