Any type of fish, I use smoked haddock as it's full of flavor.. free on red or heB on green
Large onion.
semi skim milk heA
Tarragon,black pepper.
Mashed potato. He B if on red/free if green
Grated cheese or laughing cow triangle. He A
Dice the onion and cut fish into chunks and add to the milk and season with pepper and tarragon.bung it on the hob and simmer until onions and fish are cooked.
You can now add any left over veg ie peas, corn etc
Meanwhile boil some spuds and mash and add a little nutmeg (trust me it is divine) put to one side,
Add some of the cheese to the milk mixture and thicken with a little corn flour.
Transfer fish mix to a pie dish and cover with the mash and sprinkle with a little cheese, bung under the grill and serve with plenty of free veg enjoy.
Really satisfying and very low in syns actually the only one I can see is the thickening agent maybe 3 syns at the most.
Jessie
This is mine:
1 small onion, thickly sliced
1 leek, sliced
1 carrot, chopped
4 cloves
1 bay leaf
HEA of milk
500g haddock fillet
500g salmon fillet
50g peas (only if you are on a green day)
50g sweetcorn (only if you are on a green day)
250 g fresh spinach, washed and trimmed
Freshly grated nutmeg
250 g cooked and peeled tiger prawns
4 large eggs, hard boiled, peeled and quartered
5 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
¼ pack fresh dill, chopped
2 tbsp chives
2 tbsp tarragon
Freshly ground black pepper
1.25kg peeled floury potatoes, such as King Edwards or Maris Piper (about 4 large ones)
1 swede cut into chunks
3 parsnips chopped
2 carrots chopped
1 egg yolk
Stud a couple of the onion slices with the cloves. Put the onion slices, carrot and leeks in a large pan with the milk, bay leaf, haddock and salmon. Bring just to the boil and simmer for 8 minutes. Lift the fish out on to a plate and strain the milk into a jug. Remove the bay leaf.
Wilt the spinach in its own juices in a large covered saucepan. Drain well, pressing out excess moisture.
Flake the cooked fish into bite-sized chunks and arrange in a wide ovenproof dish with the spinach and prawns. Season with nutmeg, pepper, saffron, parsley, dill, tarragon and chives.
Hard-boil the eggs for just 8 minutes, then drain and leave to cool. Peel and cut them into chunky slices and arrange on top of the fish.
Boil the potatoes, carrots, parsnips and swede for 15-20 minutes. Drain, mash and add the egg yolk. Season with black pepper. Beat in enough of the strained milk to form a soft, spreadable mash. Add peas and sweetcorn to the mash. Add nutmeg, parsley, dill, tarragon and chives to taste. If you have any remaining milk, pour over the fish mixture before spreading the mash on top.
Preheat the oven to 200C/gas 6. Spoon the potato over the filling and mark the surface with a fork. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until piping hot and golden brown.0 -

Has anyone made this using normal pasta or rice as opposed to a flavoured one? Could you use cous cous instead of rice?
SW quiches can be made from almost anything, so give it a try. You'd need lots of veg or herbs I imagine in order to add some flavour to plain pasta or rice. Yes you can make it with couscous and it's very tasty tooI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

DD1 got her club 10 last night so am made up for her, shes a bit disapointed though because she got a sticker but not a certificate..are you supposed to? She loves sticking them on her wardrobe and finds it motivating.
Well done to DD - that's a real milestone :T
The Consultant will give you a Club 10 award in the form of a sticker, and then send in a sheet to head office (which you should have signed). SW will then send you a voucher to get your free week in 10 weeks time and a certificate as well.
Info for the people who feel their weight loss is too slow.........the ideal loss is 1-2lbs a week. Any more than that and you run the risk of losing lean muscle tissue which interferes with your metabolism, thus making it harder to lose weight at all. So there you are, you're all losing perfectlyI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
I've never had a certificate for my Club 10 - either last time I did it or this time (I've hit it several times this time :rotfl:)
Quorn sausages can go in the slow cooker with a jar of Bisto casserole (e.g. the sausage casserole one) which is 7 syns for the whole jar. OH and I eat the lot between us but it would easily feed 4 or more with a jacket pot and loads of extra veg.0 -
Hi everyone
Don't get much time to post on here, but try to keep up with reading the thread. Good to see evryone's doing so well.
I had my WI last night after my first week on the programme and I lost 5lbs. I was really chuffed! I found it pretty easy to stick to as well. The same again next week would be good but I know that is highly unlikely - I would be happy with 2lb to give me my first half stone!!
On a green day today and have no idea what to have for dinner so I'm looking for some inspiration. What's everyone else (on Green days) having for dinner tonight?
Well done what a great loss. Oh have another good week and the 1/2 stone will be yours!!!
Lots to loose.....
first goal 2 stone (done) , Next target another 1st
1 and 3/4 lb lost this week TOTAL: 31 and 1/4lb :j
DO YOUR BEST......NO MORE, NO LESS.0 -

is it still free with the cous cous?0 -
Been to SW tonight and really pleased I lost another 2 lbs. That's now 12.5 lbs ... so 1.5 lbs next week and that will be my first stone!!:j There were some really good weight losses tonight and loads of new faces but I was really surprised that so few of them stayed after joining and weighing in. Maybe they will stay next week. I enjoy staying for the chat generally.
Losing 12.5 lbs means this is the lightest I've been for 2 years. I am really chuffed about that. I am going to try on some more smaller clothes over the weekend.0 -
Well done to everybody, we're all doing so well :j Had my WI last night and was really pleased to have lost 1lb as I must have eaten about 2lb of sugar with all the throat sweets etc I've eaten this week. I'm feeling a bit better now but I've been left with a voice that doesn't sound like my own and this very deep barking cough which keeps me awake at night and is driving me insane! Total lost so far 1st 5lbs, 1lb to go to club 10 and 2lb to go to my stone and a half, in 6 weeks ( I'm feeling more that a little chuffed with myself!)
P.S : could someone be kind enough to PM this weeks password, I didn't stay to class last night as I thought my coughing would be too disruptive! thanks in advance. Lorraine XWhen Life Throws You Lemons Make Lemonade0 -
