Keep your chin up, Ness:kisses3:. It's is coming off slowly for some of us but it is coming off and you thyroid could be affecting things. We just have to keep at it. Had a chat with my GP about my weight loss and he reckons slow weight loss is good as you get used to a new way of eating, your body has time to adjust and you are more likely to keep it off in the long run. (Still hoping for an 8lb loss next week though:rolleyes:)
Thanks gpuss
That is good to know, and does kinda make sense and I really should remember that with the thyroid problem I really should be about 6 stone overweight and not the [STRIKE]3 that I am [/STRIKE] no hang on only 2 stone now :T :T but I am like you I want 1/2 a stone a week please :rotfl: :rotfl:
Thanks mate

Just checking on you all!! I WI tonight and HOPE I have lost at least a pound. I have done loads of walking & cycling this week AND stuck to the plan 95%. Had one small piece of battered fish yesterday - that was the only "blip" though. I had a big salad and Ryvita for my evening meal to make up for that and been very active - long walk and work this morning.
I am losing slowly too - 1-2 lbs most weeks & I noticed that someone else commented about slow weight losses. I am fairly happy with mine TBH because I can see, for example, in my face, that I've lost weight on my cheeks and chin (but there's no hanging flesh) whereas I know a woman who has had gastric bypass op and her skin is hanging in THE most awful folds off her face. It looks truly dreadful and I suppose now she'll have to have surgery on that.0 -

Yep, the people who have gastric bypasses lose weight so quickly that they're often left with hanging skin all over the place, which must be awful when you've lost all that weight. I think many of them have to have more surgery.:smileyheagpuss0 -
Hi everyone
Don't get much time to post on here, but try to keep up with reading the thread. Good to see evryone's doing so well.
I had my WI last night after my first week on the programme and I lost 5lbs. I was really chuffed! I found it pretty easy to stick to as well. The same again next week would be good but I know that is highly unlikely - I would be happy with 2lb to give me my first half stone!!
On a green day today and have no idea what to have for dinner so I'm looking for some inspiration. What's everyone else (on Green days) having for dinner tonight?

Green day dinner tomorrow night will be a hot Quorn chilli and loads of rice0

I am having red lentil dahl. does anyone have the recipe for the chickpea, lentil and spinach curry though?
8oz red lentils
2 pts water
2 teaspoons salt
½ teaspoon chili powder
½ teaspoon turmeric
½ teaspoon Garam masala
1 teaspoon black mustard seeds
Fylight
2 tomatoes pureed
fresh coriander
Wash lentils, add 2 pts of water and all the spices. Bring to the boil and simmer til lentils dissolve. Heat frylight in frying pan, add mustard seeds til all crack. Add to the Dahl and tomato puree. Add fresh coriander and serve with rice.
This curry sauce is fab with syn free chips:
1 Onion
2 cloves Garlic
1 tsp finely grated ginger
1tbsp hot or med curry powder
400g tin chopped tomatoes
57ml/2fl oz veg stock
2 tbspn sweetener
57g/ 2oz natural yoghurt or Quark/fromage frais
1tbspn chopped mint
1 tbspn chopped coriander
Chop onions and crush garlic. Spray frying pan with fry light and place on heat - add onion, garlic, and ginger and fry for 1-2 mins before adding curry powder.
Stir and cook for another couple of mins then add tomatoes, sweetener and stock.
Bring to boil and reduce heat to simmer gently for 12-15 mins.
Then blitz sauce in food processor or with hand blender, and return to heat. Heat gently then add quark/yoghurt/fromage frais and herbs.
