Don't know about vanilla essence. But I have know people to add it to natural yoghurt and still count it as free. But I don't know if they are right to do so or not.

I've now lost 10.5 lbs on SW and I'm feeling good about that!!

I am eating far more with SW than I have the past year (when I've tried to lose weight myself .... unsuccessfully:o I have to say!) AND losing weight steadily - 1-2 lbs each week, so I'm a very happy bunny.:j

    Hi everyone,

Hope you don't mind me joining you - I attended my first SW meeting today!! You all seem to be doing so well - hope I can too.

I thought I had only half a stone to lose, but am a few pounds heavier than I thought, so it 12 pounds. I really want to shift most of it in time for my hols in 5 weeks  .

I am just trying to get my head around this, so I can go shopping tomorrow and buy the right stuff!

I have planned a menu for a green day, of mostly free food. I can't go without any 'goodies' so will buy some curly wurlys and 2 finger kitkats too ;).

Can anyone tell me what Muller Rice is in Syns on Green/Red please? Also how much cereal is 28g - my guess is not much - LOL. Also I don't have any wholemeal bread - except some medium sized seedy rolls. Do you think one of these would equate to 2 slices of wholemeal bread? (I'll get a loaf tomorrow - can it be seedy or just plain wholemeal?)

Sorry for all the questions!! Off to eat my last BIG bowl of cereal before the work starts tomorrow!!

Wholemeal bread you can have 57g whether its rolls or slices. Only certain cereals count as healthy b's, though 28g of porridge goes along way, add fruit, a sliced banana and it goes even further.

Mullerice 1% fat 150g pots all seem to be 6 syns except orginal which is 5.5
  • i have found that i am spending loads and because i am trying to vary what i am eating, costs are constantly getting bigger! Also buying loads of fresh fruit and veg is expensive!

Hi I have the same problem. Cant believe just how much the shopping bill has gone up. But I know it is well worth it in the end. I suppose if I was to add just what we used to spend on groceries plus all of the take aways I dont suppose it is much of a difference. PF

    hello newbies

some BBQ suggestions if still wanted...
gammon steaks, morrissons no syn sausages, lamb leg steaks
fresh pineapple rings (they are sooo yummy on the bbq )
butternut squash.. cut into slices add fry light and season and wack on bbq !
hmade veg kebabs.. i use chunks of red onion, cougettes, mushrooms, all colours of peppers and toms.
make a dip with quark, chopped spring onion, garlic salt, two tbls extra light mayo and somedried chili flakes
i also used a (heb) jacket spud, took out the middle and used that seperate, then added chopped bacon and cheese(hea)and made loaded skins and had a big blob of the quark dip on top

There's some great recipes on this thread which I can't wait to try (I'm still working my way through it! May take a few days!) and its very motivational - this is the most positive I've felt about a diet in years!

I've seen Morrisons Eat Smart sausages mentioned a few times as being sin free. I believe that this is the chilled ones. I have some of the frozen ones in my freezer, does anyone know the syn value so I can use them up?
