Not buying booze helps, though - hubby & I used to get through 3 or 4 bottles of wine a week, and a litre of whisky every 2 weeks not to mention cans of cider as well - thankfully diet tonic and coke zero is a bit cheaper!!!!
do you have a farmers market near you? i find fruit and veg much cheaper buying it there - and nicer than the supermarket too cos its fresh.0 -

Well done Gpuss, :j I think you have well and truly beaten me to it - I am on holiday this week, and have gone totally off track. I gave up counting my syns, so am expecting to have put about 4 lbs back on. Will weigh myself when I get home, and let you all know how bad the damage is
Oh well, I know I can lose 4 lbs in a week, so it's not the end of the world.
Well done anyone else who has lost or maintainedYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Just a quick one....How much are you spending a week on food shopping doing this diet? I'm finding my shopping bill is getting bigger and bigger (hopefully tummy is going to get smaller!)

ps If someone could be kind enough to PM me with the password for the SW website I'd be very grateful :-) Not going to classes due to money being very tight at the mo.
1)check out the value ranges , beans, pasta, tin items ,ect
2)go to the reduced items -veg ,herbs, fruit
3) with herbs you can freeze them in little ice tray ,or little bags , ready for use .
4) also with the reduced veg make meals and freeze , ready syned too
5) check instore free mags for money of food iteams , in the tesco one theres one for 0% greek yogurt ,and others ,cut out and hand in .
6) also tesco take coupons off shopping even if you hav'nt borte the item,
cut out any mages or paper ones , cuts your shopping bill
7)go shopping with freind or family member and buy the bogof items and split the bill .
8) check papers for offers in differet stores , like quorn items -superspeed , ect and shop around .
9) go to places like homebargins ,they do lots of cheap items we eat on our diet , like alpine light bars 99p a pack
10) do shopping on line and stick to what you have to have , because your not going in store you won't be tempted to buy what you don't need , tesco send money off codes for first few shops and theres always one around  ,on leaflet in store , pm me on this one , i'll explain more .
Hope this helps peachy x0 -

we find buying everything online apart from things that will go out of date quickly cuts our bill massively cos we are tempted by things we don't need. we have found though that the shoppers sometimes don't pay attention to sell by dates so will give you 8 pints of milk all about to go out of date within a day or something stupid. we tend to get everything except for milk, cheese, bread, fruit, veg and meat which we get from farmers market. the cheese is just cos its nicer from the market not cos it goes off or anything like the other things.
also we have saved money with herbs by growing our own in a little planter beside the back door.0 -

Mine is massive. But, its hard to tell things have gone up and we have a baby now as well.
I do have a few helpful tips tho.... for meat rather than veg.......
1) Gammon steaks - I buy a joint which can me upto £1.50kg cheaper and slice it. Usually get more meals out of it too. Always freeze whats left over
2) Beef steak - same as above
3) Chicken breast - some recipes it doesn't actually need to be breast so I buy thighs and skin them and take them off the bone (alot cheaper)
4) Bacon and Ham - some places do "off cuts" or "value" these can vary but don't be affraid to hunt through the packets to find the best and if there is nothing can always buy what you usually buy nothing lost!Lots to loose.....
first goal 2 stone (done) , Next target another 1st
1 and 3/4 lb lost this week TOTAL: 31 and 1/4lb :j

top tip don't be affraid to use tesco, then asda, then sainsburys and so on... Then usually because you haven't spent with tesco in a while the send you a nice voucher for money off and the rest follow suit if that makes sense.
Also there are sites that supply the codes for money off I can never get them to work but you mayLots to loose.....
