Hi all,
hope you don't mind me tagging on! Basically, my sister re-joined sw last week as she has done amazingly well on it in the past and has already lost 5 lb in the first week.
Anyway, inspired by this, i haven't joined but am following along with her (but only started today)! I have tried sw before but it didn't work as well for me as it does for my sis although we practically did identical meals etc.
If i may can i just post what i've had today so someone could have a look and tell me if i'm going wrong anywhere.
oatso simple syrup porridge with semi-skim milk (brekkie)
jacket potato with whole tin of baked beans (lunch)
fat free chips (snack)
spag bol made with just spag, onion, tin of tomatoes and some mixed herbs
2 pears
4 cups of tea with a sugar in each
That seems such a lot now i've written it down! and it's only 6.15! But i won't eat anything else this evening.
Many thanks
Lisa x
I don't see enough healthy extras in your days meals and you really should be having at least 1 HEA and 2 HEBs. The Oats So Simple with syrup is not on the list of HEBs so it would have to be synned. Is your tspn of sugar in tea a level one or heaped? Could you use artificial sweetener instead, This way you'd save syns for something tastier (like chocolate or a glass of wine).
It would have been better to have had original OSS instead of the syrup one - this would then have been a HEB. You're allowed a minimum of 250mls semi-skimmed milk and I doubt if you had anywhere near that on your porridge. You could also have had another HEA and used 28gms grated cheese on your spag. bol.
It's important to have your HEBs too. You could have had a measured amount of extra lean mince in the spag bol and perhaps a piece of chicken with the jacket & beans.
You need to eat lots for SW to work really well, so don't think that by cutting down you'll lose weight quicker - it really doesn't work that wayI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Thanks for posting the korma recipe C31 I will give it a try:D did i also read somewhere that there is a 'chip shop' curry sauce in the book???

Ooh I have the best curry sauce recipe to hand :-
Syn free curry sauce.
1 Onion
2 cloves Garlic
1 tsp finely grated ginger
1tbsp hot or med curry powder
400g tin chopped tomatoes
57ml/2fl oz veg stock
2 tbspn sweetener
57g/ 2oz natural yoghurt or Quark/fromage frais
1tbspn chopped mint
1 tbspn chopped coriander
Chop onions and crush garlic. Spray frying pan with fry light and place on heat - add onion, garlic, and ginger and fry for 1-2 mins before adding curry powder.
Stir and cook for another couple of mins then add tomatoes, sweetener and stock.
Bring to boil and reduce heat to simmer gently for 12-15 mins.
Then blitz sauce in food processor or with hand blender, and return to heat. Heat gently then add quark/yoghurt/fromage frais and herbs.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Ive tried quark and but no good xDS Anthony Steven 07.06.92DD Becky Emma 24.01.94DD Rose Grace Jean 12.05.090 -
Ta very much for that Consultant,
think i will read through all the bumpf my sister got from class last week. Thought i had a handle on it but not as much as i thought!
I also do a gym workout at least 5 days a week (a good hours cardio per session)! But it just seems to take me ages to lose anything! I've been healthy eating and exercising for about 2 months now and not much to show for it!
The sugar in tea is a flat spoonful and i hate sweeteners! I was just going to use the sugar as syns and not really get into the syns with anything else as i never claculate it properly.
Many thanks again

Feeling really pleased with myself as being extra careful this week.
Managed to get through whole weekend without a glass of wine.... prefer to use my sins for a two finger kit kat....
Also managed to get through whole weekend without nibbling on the two boxes of jaffa cakes hubby has in the cupboard.... (buy one get one free).
Have done complete original week this week so far.... ususally eat loads of baked potatos and SW Chips so decided to do something different.
Anyone any ideas for something nice to do with cod on a red day?
Trying to keep to speed foods this week as well as need to get back into target range.
Also how many of you weigh at home? I just can't stop myself each morning!
Well done all you losers! and the all day breakfast quiche is fantastic.... OH and DS have already asked for another!!!!!
Keep the recipes coming.....
I weigh myself at least four or five times a day................0 -

Can someone point me to the right page or post for the breakfast quiche please? Can't find it and want to make it in the morning! Thankyou in advance x0

I bought some of this today (as I think (well hope) its free! and I have had it mixed first with water then mixed with diet 7up. I have been trying to imagine its some yummy cocktail. isnt quite working and it didnt help whilst shopping for my robinsons I picked up a bottle of Rose wine for only £2.49. I paid full price for this wine the other week.
wine has remained unopened however!!! and will do until after my weigh in on Wednesday.
my eyes feel so heavy, I just want to sleep (me beloved moggy decided to go out in the rainy windy weather last night and catch a couple of voles and then proceed to play with them in our lounge waking me up ) so no doubt I will be snoozing on the sofa very soon or fast asleep in front of the pc.
Hope your mondays have been ok. Ive been just about ok SW wise today but struggling. I am now trying to resist the chocolate - not hungry after tea so trying to resist....0 -
