    Korma
2½ syns per serving on Green & Original

    2 chopped onions
1" piece ginger, peeled and chopped
    3 garlic cloves, chopped
    ½pt stock (Chicken Bovril)
    1 tbsp ground coriander
    1 cinnamon stick, broken
    ½ tsp turmeric
    5 cardomom pods, lightly crushed
    1 tsp salt
    juice of ½ lemon
    1oz block creamed coconut, grated
    5oz vlf natural yoghurt
    2 tbsp freshly chopped coriander

Place onions, ginger & garlic in a food processor and blend to a smooth paste. Transfer to a frying pan along with the chicken stock. Bring to the boil, reduce heat & simmer for 5 mins.
Stir in the spices, salt & lemon juice. Add the coconut and continue cooking, stirring occasionally for 10 mins. Gradually add the yoghurt, a spoon at a time and simmer gently for 15-20 mins (do not boil or the yog will curdle).
Discard the cinnamon poeces, scatter over the fresh coriander and stir to combine before serving.

This really is a gorgeous sauce, my favourite!

Ok, sorry, I just thought it worth a mention since Asda do make their own label rice and it's easy to get it wrong.

However, the Good For You sausages are definitely not free (according to my Directory), though they are only 1 syn each on Original.

Those Sammy's snack packs make a lovely free lunch-box meal too.

Does anyone know how i could make a low fat alternative to creme freche? I a low fat one to make a stroganoff but its quite high in syns and just wondered if i could mix some fromage frais with something...did try it with only fromage frais and it was awful!!!

Have you tried Quark? It's a cheese, rather like creme fraiche - I don't know if it would work, but maybe worth a try. You can get it from the cheese aisle in Asda & Morrisons.

    Hi all,

hope you don't mind me tagging on! Basically, my sister re-joined sw last week as she has done amazingly well on it in the past and has already lost 5 lb in the first week.
Anyway, inspired by this, i haven't joined but am following along with her (but only started today)! I have tried sw before but it didn't work as well for me as it does for my sis although we practically did identical meals etc.
If i may can i just post what i've had today so someone could have a look and tell me if i'm going wrong anywhere.

oatso simple syrup porridge with semi-skim milk (brekkie)
jacket potato with whole tin of baked beans (lunch)
    fat free chips (snack)
spag bol made with just spag, onion, tin of tomatoes and some mixed herbs
    2 pears
4 cups of tea with a sugar in each

That seems such a lot now i've written it down! and it's only 6.15! But i won't eat anything else this evening.

    Many thanks

    Hi,
Sorry to hear things not great skint_catt and rialooney....hope things improve for you soon.

Thanks for posting the korma recipe C31 I will give it a try:D did i also read somewhere that there is a 'chip shop' curry sauce in the book???

LoneR What is a Gazelle thingy:confused:

I have eaten for britain today
    B - 2 weetabix heb
    S - half a cantaloupe melon
L baked potato, beans and salad (out at a pub), then toffee muller over banana (when I got home)
D - quorn burger, wholemeal bun heb, chips (2syns) then God knows why but i had another muller, a vanilla one.......I feel bloated (exactly like a big fat pig)

I think I will get my (wobbly) bum on my bike tonight, Oh and I have changed my weigh in day to a monday instead of a saturday, I'm hoping this will focus me a bit more at the weekends.

    Hi All,

Have been pretty good this week so I have high hopes for my weigh in. Just had a lovely tea, new potatoes, purple spouting brocolli, stuffed pappers (stuffed with cous cous - aldi amazing grains) with some HEA cheese on top all a bit dry so made a really quick sauce and htis is gorgeous so you have to try it. Cut cherry tomaotes in two put in oven proof dish, season well, add good sprinkling of dried oregano (love oregano but basil would be good too) a few squirts of fry light to help it on its way and bung in the oven, if you don't cook it for long it is great with a fry up as the toms are whole but roasted a bit and lovey or cook it longer and it turns more saucy. I could easily eat a bucket of it, but I wont.
Brilliant productive weekend putting a big pile of my cuddly person clothes on ebay, so if you want any 1647 etc get yourselves over there!
    Fingers crossed for WI everyone!
