well i am very naughty and didnt go to SW tonight and yes i feel very guilty!

reason being is that its that time of the month and i feel like a whale ( no excuse i know) and i very badly gave into tempatation on my work trip to london yesterday and eat bad breakfast on the train, lunch provided in the meeting (fattyfoods) and a burger king on the way home, it was a 12 hour day!

    so dissapointed with myself!

OMG it is nearly Friday and I must say I am getting really excited,I can sort of remember what I can have for breakfast so when I start tommorow at class I can also make that my first day. I must suceed this time. Been on here tonight to see what has been said, thankyou for my messages, I really think this site is going to help ,you all give each other so much encouragement. I am afraid to say I too am bigger and heavier now than when I was pregnant a few years ago now and I was huge then, swollen up with pre eclampsia too, I don't really have an excuse to be like this although I don't really eat junkfood, we eat a very healthy diet and tons of veg, very very little fatty or fried, always grilled or dry fried and lean, keep the spuds on my plate to a sensible amount, I think it may be total portion size though and due to time commitments with work and kids I rarely walk anymore .Can somebody please tell me what 'mugshots' are, I have read it a few times and looked on a few supermarkets sites and cannot see them?
I will report back tomorrow with how my return to SW went.
  • Hi folks, thanks very much for your warm welcome, it's much appreciated!!

As promised please find below my recipe for Pesto Pasta.

    Fry Light
    1 x Large Onion
    2 x Garlic Gloves
    1 x Red Pepper
    6 x Medium Sized Mushrooms
    1 x Large Courgette
    1 x Tin Chopped Tomatoes
1 tbsp Tomato Puree (half a syn)
2 tbsp Sacla Classic Pesto Sauce (7 syns)
500g Pack of your favourite pasta
Salt, Pepper and Mixed Herbs to taste

    2 Syns per serving - serves 4

    Method:

Spray a large pan with Fry Light, chop or crush the garlic cloves and onion and place in the bottom of the pan. De-seed the red pepper and chop into regular sized pieces and add these to the pan. Next, wash then finely slice the mushrooms adding these to the pan. Place the pan over a high heat and cover, cook until softened.

Add the tomatoes, tomato puree, salt, pepper, mixed herbs and Sacla Pesto sauce to the pan and allow to simmer for a few minutes while you finely slice the courgette. Add the courgette to the pan laying the slices flat on the surface of the mixture before re-covering and allowing to simmer for 5 minutes to steam the courgette.

Place the pasta in a pan of boiling water and cook according to the instructions on the packet. Stir the courgette into the mixture and allow to simmer gently while the pasta is cooking.

Once the pasta has cooked, drain and add it to the sauce stirring in well to cover evenly before serving.

Nice with a swirl of fat free natural yoghurt on the top!

I'll post chilli recipe when hubby writes it down!! lol:D

    Cheers,
    Deb x

Mugs shots are like a cup-a-soup and have pasta or noodles in them. The only pasta one that is free on green is the tomato and herb, but all the noodles ones are free on green.

You'll find them with the cup-a-soups, Asda currently have them for £1.50 for 4

    hello all:hello:
not been around much, kept checking in, but had one of those weeks.
hope everyones ok, and detirmined to keep up now as i can't believe how fast the pages have filled up!!!!!
wi for me last night and lost half a pound, so happy with that considering i had a blow out at weekend.
still not our normal consultant, silly mad woman who was there last week, and she said something that really upset me so i left without the password so if anyone would pm me with it i'd be very grateful.
our consultant has been away for three weeks, first week we got a fabulous consultant who spurred me on, the one we have had the last two weeks, i used to go to, but couldn't get on with her at all, she speaks before she thinks and berates you if you have a had a bad week, and drove me mad, so i left her class mid last year, and changed to this one when i re started after christmas. anyways last week i took dd with me, and although we didn't stay to class we did have a few minutes chatting to the consultant, who asked why i didn't go to her other class etc, and i said its because thursday night is much easier for me.
this week when i went in, she took me on one side, and said she thought i should watch what my dd is eating as she "looks the type of child who will pile weight on" if i'm not careful, and getting her to eat slimming world way would be a good start in life. i was livid to say the least, pointed out i didn't think it was her place to comment on a child's weight, unless she was medically qualified to, went got weighed and went home feeling very angry. dd by the way is 11, 5 foot 2, and weighs 7 and a half stone, which is a healthy weight for her height, according to all the child bmi calculators i have tried this morning, one actually said it was the low end of the healthy range.
part of me thinks i should report her (to whom i don't know) as it could really upset someone if she said something like this in front of a child, or am i making a big fuss about nothing and should just let it drop.
thank god normality will return next week to our class,

thanks for reading if you have got this far!!!!! any advice gladly recieved.

    love

Hi 160, I don't think you're overreacting. I feel really strongly about this. A comment like this overheard or passed on to a child could lead to all kinds of trouble and misery in the future. This silly woman is a SW consultant for god's sake, not a doctor, or in any way qualified to judge what kind of eating habits a child likely to develop and it's not her place to make unasked for comments like this. I would report her to SW. Ring the main switchboard number and ask to make a complaint about a consultant. Tell them exactly what she said, and that she has a habit of these kind of negative remarks. It might stop her causing distress to someone else.
