Im hoping someone can help me here, I have washed my sons new designer t. shirt, it has white stripes in it and yes something has run and turned the white pink.....................he is not going to be a happy bunny when he sees it. Has anyone any suggestions, I am a bit worried about these colour run products as when I have tried them in the past (not that I make a habit of this you understand!!) they work great on whites but on coloureds they are disastrous, they strip the colour out!!!!0

Hi susi,
You may get more help with this on the Old Style board, so I'll move your thread over there.
In the meantime, have a look at these threads:

Just discovered my daughter's pristine white school shirt is no longer. It's an unattractive shade of patchy grey. :eek: Is it worth soaking it in mild bleach or will I have to use a vile smelling run remover? Or has anyone got any other suggestions (apart from making sure DS's black school socks don't sneak into the wash
)
I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.

I have been doing fewer, but mixed colour, washes instead of separating them all out by colour and doing lots of little washes . I use those colourcatcher things you put in the wash, and they always come out coloured and my clothes OK. But they look like the posh sort of paper napkins, has anyone experimented with any sort of HM colourcatcher as they are expensive and it hurts to have to throw them away. Lakeland used to do a 'permanent' one which was like a strip of towelling, but that worried me as after a bit you didn't know if it was saturated with colour or not, so didn't dare use it. I'm sure it must be possible to make a HM version, any geniuses out there who understand the chemistry ?0

i stupidly put a white top in a wash with my coloured stuff yesterday and its gone all dingy grey (and so its now useless).
Is there anything i can do to make it all shiney white again, or have i ruined it?
