I went to crooksfoot tescos this morning & brought 3 large packs of skinless chicken breasts & a half a leg of lamb. All had a lower price on the point of sale card and a higher price on the product. Needless to say I left crooksfoot with a great big smile on my face & a £48 refund. this afternoon I went to park farm tescos and brought 2 large rolled boneless shoulder joints of pork & 3 packs of 4 lamb loin chops again All had a lower price on the point of sale card and a higher price on the product. I left with a £25 refund plus the goods.

Sorry for my naiveity but what is this about getting a refund when prices are wrong at tesco. (Smoeone please save me reading through 17 pages of posts)

I normally shop at morrisions but if this happens regular may be worth a trip.

Tesco have a refund and replace policy in the event you get overcharged in their stores. This is clearly displayed in each and every one of their stores at the customer service desks. It reads something like this.

In the unlikely event you are charged a higher price than that displayed on the shelf edge or the product we will refund your money and you get to keep the product.

There are many products currently on display at Tesco's throughout the country most of them listed throughout this thread and still available despite Tesco refunding on them up and down the country!

Simply compare prices between shelf edge label or other pos to the packet price if you are not charged the lower of the two prices then your purchase should qualify, a general rule of thumb is that the pack price is most likely to scan so if it is higher than the promotional material it's freebie time. You should be looking for items such as cheese and meat although overcharges occur in every department of a supermarket these are the easiest to spot as discrepencies between price per kilo on shelf and pack price per kilo are easily comparable whereas with canned products for instance you would need to note the shelf edge price and compare with your receipt or take to one of the scanners instore to determine if an overcharge would occur.

Alternatively you could trawl the thread and list all items others have found and go on a search although you would probably arouse suspicion if seen to be comparing list to shelf edge prices, Tesco security is not known for its intelligence but is certainly quite adept at watching tv!

For those in Cardiff! Western avenue has several packs of pork mispriced today along with a limited quantity of the smaller packs of chicken breast this also applies to Culverhouse Cross which have the chicken but no pork.#

Happy shopping, and remember every little helps

Tesco 6 Thick Cut Back bacon rashers un/smoked (300g) price on packet £1.90 price on shelf £1.66.

I tried these, but they only went and bleeding well scanned at the right (lower) price, didn't they? Ahh well, I don't mind paying a little for half-decent bacon :)

Got my just deserts today. :(

My freezer has decided to throw a wobbler, and I've lost lots of free chicken and beef in gravy, not to mention the "proper" meat I bought from the butchers.

    Serves me right.

If you have household contents insurance there is every likliehood you will have cover for such a loss, you would almost certainly have an excess to pay usually £50 but if you've been particularly successful at Tesco that may well be a drop in the ocean. Take a few photographs of the damaged items and call your claims line they will usually be satisfied with such evidence to support a claim but make sure you don't throw anything away before they give you the ok as it may affect the settlement if you cannot provide evidence of your loss. Most household policies allow for replacement value not cost value so just because you got the goods free doesn't mean you can replace them free.
