I don't need to shop online yet but i jsut joined mysupermarket to check on prices.
Now I can't find the Basics Baked Beans at all on mysupermarket, it's got Basics Beans & sausages but not just the beans?
How can I add basics baked beans to my trolley if I wanted to order in future?0 -

I've just done a search with Basics Beans and all varieties have appeared. If you still have no luck just type in Basics in Sainsbury's and it should bring up the whole range. Just a question of scrolling through then.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

I've just found the second Basics item I won't be buying again. The first was choc ices and now it's Cheese Sauce. CHEESE sauce? I think they forgot to put the cheese in my tub! I grated more cheese into it and that improved it but I won't bother with it again. Those two items apart, I have been pleased with every other Basics item I've tried."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

I'm talking about mysupermarket not sainsbury's own site.
I already tried a search on mysupermarket and they still don't show up at all.
A search for basics beans just gets tinned "beans & sausages" & "red kidney beans"

Have recently tried:
Blackcurrant squash approx 50p
Orange squash approx 50p
Jaffa cakes 38p
Cheese and tomato pizza (chilled, not frozen) 99p
All really nice, the pizza was huge and loaded with cheese. I just added some mushrooms and a bit of ham out of the fridge.0 -
Going to be controversial here, and say -
The Good
- Basics Mozzarella is great. A little less smooth than its peers 'raw', it makes a fantastic pizza. Pizza bases are dirt cheap, as is tomato puree, so this is a great option for a budget pizza.
- Bacon is decent if you aren't too fussy about shape, or it's going to be chopped up anyhow (as per carbonara).
- Toilet roll. It's fine; I honestly don't see what the fuss is about.
- Foil. Foil is foil is foil. I've never had bad experiences with this one - and yet, the alternative is so much more expensive!
- White chocolate. Decent stuff, works well in baking / cheesecakes.
- Tortilla chips. Nice way of augmenting a chili, but very inexpensive.
- Flour. Honestly, what's the fuss about expensive flour?
- Carrots are great. So what if they're a little varied in shape and size? Wonderful roasted.
The Bad:
- Tuna. Awful, awful, awful. A horrible, rotten fish smell, poor texture and watery meat make this the last choice for me, no matter how much cheaper than the alternative it is.
- Tea Bags. Well, I call them 'tea' bags, but I'm not so certain. It's something powdery that makes something brown, but that's as far as I can go.
- Stock cubes. Very, very salty; pretty bland, not enough of a saving to justify it.
- Mince pies. Bleugh.0 -

Have to agree with you on the tea bags! Perhaps its because I drink too much of it but I can taste the difference! Its just a bit "sharp" or acidic or "hard" compared to other teas I have had.
But the loo roll? nope, I just end up using more if its thinner! Then I end up blocking the toilet...spening more money on new rolls/getting the toilet fixed... Maybe it'd be different if I had children (have heard my 5yo neice uses about 1/4 of a roll a time- just a bad habit says my sister who I can remember doing the same when she was 5!) but for me? its Andrex or Velvet all the way! I like the loo roll, i use the batter mix to make my yorkshires (8p! how can you go wrong?!) The cornflakes taste like 'real' cornflakes.Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500
