Don't discount the basic mince till you've tried it rcpbiggles. I was dubious too but thought I'd give it a try. (It's more coarsley minced than other mince by the way.) I fried it up with onions until the fat ran then drained the fat off and added the mince and onion to a pan of finely chopped veg, garlic, tinned tomatoes and a little beef stock. I let it simmer away for a while, seasoned and thickened, and OH said it was the nicest savoury mince I'd ever made!! For 97p a pack I will definitely buy it again but the excess fat certainly needs draining off before you proceed with whatever you are making."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

I agree about the mince, have used it a few times and found it to be fine.
Have been using the shampoo and conditioner for a few weeks now. The shampoo is great, no noticable difference between that and more expensive brands. However, the conditioner is quite runny so you have to use loads, and I find my long hair gets quite knotty during the day.
Shampoo 27p 1litre
Conditioner 27p 500ml

We buy the mince and I prefer it to the more expensive stuff. Seems to have more flavour.

I used their basics smoked salmon cuttings to make my philidelphia cheese and smoked salmon pasta dish on christmas eve. I have guests and had not budgeted well for it or expected all to come for a meal. It was 88p for 125g and as all i do is chop up the smoked salmon to put it in a sauce this worked out really well and was fabulous along with their our cream cheese made the dish only 42p each for 12 of us to have smoked salmon creamy pasta. yum:happyhear YUMMY MUMMY TO HENRY BEAR AGED 10:happyhearslimming world need to get back to target 25lb to goDisney World here we come May 2018:j0

I started buying sainsburys basic range when my husband decided to kit out the basement like a bomb shelter when the threat of swine flu/ bird flu/ jehova witness's etc came knocking at the door......so i pandered too him and bought a load of basic food to fill his wee den.....anyway here is the best of my basics from sainsburys,,,,
Basic cornflakes around 50p for 500g, almost like kellogs, the taste is right its just not got the cripsyness right.
Basic tomato sauce around 40p for a glass bottle, looks and smells great, the taste is brill and its not too runny or thick.
Basic tomato soup around 19p for a 400g tin, honestly its just a heinz but not as thick.
Basic mixed fruit mix around 60p for 500g great in cakes, on top of your basic cornflakes.
Basic chocolate ice cream lollies around 1.50 for 16 lollies, imagine a thin magnum and thats these!
Basic Instant Mash around 35p for 500g, just as good as any other once you add your black pepper and butter!
Basic Teabags around 28p for 80, quite nice and does well in a teapot as well as a one cup bag.
Basic biscuit pack around 80p(used to be 48p!) for four packs of biccies, bourbon, custard creams, shortbread and nice. These are all firm favs in my house.
Basic double concentrate squash around 80p for a 1lte bottle that makes 3 litres of juice, its not very good, and you need to put more in to get a good taste so defeats the purpose of double strenght, just buy the proper stuff, its got 20% fruit unlike the basic at only 5-10% depending on flavour.
Basic vanilla icecream aorund 90p for 2 litres, its just frozen milk, very pale and trasparent no flavour. ok for kids on a wafer with loads of sauce or mixed with jelly.
Thats all i can think of at the mo. I hope that helps some shoppers, im very fixed in my ways with my cornflakes and tomato soup and i have always bought kellogs and heinz until i tried the sainburys versions and now i buy them.0
