Sainsburys is my local store. I'm a student so I always buy as low a brand as my taste buds let me!
Things I buy regularly:
- Peaches in fruit juice
- Fruit cocktail in fruit juice
- Carrots
- Peppers
- Ham
- Apple juice
- Tomatoes
- Chicken & sweetcorn sandwich filler
- Spag bol chilled ready meal
- Oat and raisin cereal bars
- Pizza.. Awful on it's own, completely tasteless; but used as a base for other toppings is great, much cheaper than dough or pre-bought plain pizza bases.
- Rice pudding
- All squash varieties
- Tinned chopped tomatoes
- Curry sauce
- Pot noodles
- Corn flakes.. They're not the same as the brand names but they're still tasty.
- UHT milk
- Conditioner
- Hand cream
- Kitchen Roll
-
Things I wouldn't recommend:
- Yogurt
- Toilet paper.. I use it but I know other people like soft paper and it definitely isn't.
- Cheese.. It's just too rubbery for me.
- Sausages.. Tasteless and bitty
- Tomato sauce.. Very watery, ok as a base for adding other things too.0 -

Well I've been using it for about a year now and my 'darks' are no more faded than they have been in the past using the likes of Bold, Persil, Daz etc. Fair play, you can't get a 'colour care' version of this washing powder, but if you're really bothered you could only use this for whites/lights. I personally find it's fine for everything.0 -
Well after reading most of this thread yesterday I thought I would try Sainsbury's again, I normally go to Asda or Tesco (begrudgingly but it's convenient) and I haven't really been convinced by Sainsburys for a long time as a lot of their stuff is dearer than the other supermarkets. However I was surprised today at just how vast their Basics range is in comparison with the other supermarkets.
So I now have cupboards full of white and orange labels!!! but I'll try everything and let you know how I get onAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00 -

I agree, my sons have black sweatshirts for school and DS2 is wearing DS1's old ones and they are still black! It gets out the usual mud and grime and is just as good as Ariel (I used to use). It doesn't always get everything out first time - but I've never found a brand that did. (basics soap at 15p for 3 bars is good as prewash for collars and cuffs too).
It's only a game

My favourite item (so far) in the Basics range is the cornish pasties - packed full of really tasty meat and veg!0

i bought sainsburys basic custard and the chocolate steam pudding, the custard was ok if abit runny, (was fine for the kids) but the pudding was vile!!! it was only 50 odd pence but even so not worth buying again!0

We found the peach slices and custard delicious. Joined the nectar card thingy today.0

The basics mint sauce was good, and have been using the mayo, fine in sarnies.
Shortcake biscuits also gone down well in our house.0
