They're open til 10pm most nights in my local store (fairly big one) at least. The Basics stuff is scattered around, usually on the lower shelves beneath the more expensive stuff.

Forgot to mention the Basics mild cheese - always loved that stuff for cheese on toast, has just the right consistency as far as I'm concerned :D

Well, we experienced our first ever late delivery today. 20 mins late but the driver rang us and informed us and apologised etc. He then turns up, apologises again and hands me a £10 e-voucher off our next shop for being late! 'Come late next week as well' says I :D We'd already used a £15 off £80 e-voucher they sent us for this shop so all in all a VERY cheap shop :eek:120 items (predominantly Basics but also quite a few half price branded groceries) for £67 including delivery.

Had some Basics chicken chunks in Basics sweet and sour sauce tonight... underwhelming is probably the word - the sauce tasted of pretty much nothing, although the chicken was good. I suppose for 30-something pence you can't complain :D

Basics part bake bagettes, cooked and filled with basics ham, basics pepperoni and basics salami, topped with basics grated cheddar, grilled and topped with whatever salad stuff you like, great filling snack, my 3 teens love it.
Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together. :p

After reading this thread i decided to try out a sainsburys shop with basics items. usually shop at tesco but found that the shop price has been increasing!

    Really Impressed with:

Basics Chopped Tomatoes (33p - i opened a tin of tescos own, not value, chopped tomatoes at the same time to taste test and the sainsburys basics was sweeter - not bitter at all!)
    Basics Cookies (40p)
Basics Chocolate Digestive Bars (1.09p but 18 in a pack!)
Basics White Chocolate (27p and so yummy -nicer than the milk version and no difference to milkybar)
Basics Courgettes (£1.64 but 4 in a pack - nice in omelette, spag bol etc)
Basics Carrots (£1.33 for a huge bag)
Basics freedom food endorsed salmon (2 fillets cost me £2.34 - found 1 bone but it is a fish! really tasty)
basics 6 white pitta breads (25p!)
basics broccoli in a bag (79p for 300g)
basics cauliflower in a bag (79p for 300g)
    basics lemons (59p for 4!)

    Things that were OK

    basics milk chocolate
strawberry + white chocolate cereal bars
    basics mushrooms (a bit soggy)

I will definately continue to shop with sainsburys basics and im even more of a convert now i have found out about their animal welfare standards (no battery eggs, sustainable fish, free range pork etc). i usually buy freedom food endorsed chicken and got some of that offer too!
