I'd describe the basics pitta bread as small, great for children and for tearing up and dipping, but not for filling like a sandwich for adults.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

The Basics porridge is really good! Think it's only 89p and I slice a Basics banana in it, mmmmmmmm0

I converted to the Basic's last year when it hit me why am I paying twice the price for tinned chopped tomato's when a chopped tomato is a chopped tomato no matter what label you put on it. Granted I am a HP brown sauce girl & there is no amount of money that will change that LOL
I was loving the mozerella pearls that they were doing (fab for homemade pizza's) but they didn't seem to be around for long - boo!!!
I think Sainsbury's has responded really well to the current climate & recognised that more & more people are struggling - it makes a change for a company not to take advantage
Happy Shopping!!2010 - nothing as we emigrated to Australia!!! :j0 -

I've had a jar of Basics curry sauce in the cupboard for a few months now but haven't bitten the bullet and tried it yet. One of the assistants said it's really nice and you can just put it straight onto food on the plate like you would use ketchup.
The curry sauce is really nice - I'm a bit soft when it comes to curry (much to hubby's shame LOL) but this I LIKE & it's not hot just real tasty. For 30p (or whatever it is) it's well worth a try!

We use the Basics Mozzarella Ball at 47p and just cut it into slices before putting it onto the pizza base. Works a treat and a bit of a billy bargain...Call me Carmine....

The jar we bought several weeks ago which has been left in the cupboard as my wife refuses to believe a sauce that costs 9p can be any good, I'm pleased to say, is now adorning a couple of Sainsbug turkey breast steaks and happily bubbling away in the RemoskaWill report my findings later.

Whilst I was away, hubby did the shopping - Basics Packet Custard 7p!
just add boiling water and serve - excellent!
Methinks he should shop every week ! :j0 -
Well, we had the Basics curry sauce (although we added an 18p tin of pineapple chunks to it!) and it was lovely! Certainly no good for those who enjoy Tindaloo-type spiciness but for us just about perfect. Total price for sauce and pineapples = 27p!
PS The curry sauce is also very low fat compared to most - just 2.8% fat, whereas the Pataks Tikka Masala we have in the cupboard is 7.5%! Recommended, we will get another one now, lol.Call me Carmine....
