Is the wine in the Wine dept ? LOL stupid question! but I just want to try it in cooking, wasnt sure if maybe it was in a separate section for cooking ingreds ! What sort of label is on it ? I never go in the wine bit and there's millions of bottles.. I might be in there for a week...

Its in the normal wine section. Probably on the bottom shelf, as 99% of Basic items are on the bottom shelf. They are all Spanish, so look in the Spanish sections of each wine colour.

They have gone up a lot recently. They are £2.89 a bottle. Bought a bottle of Hungarian Chardonnay from Aldi for £2.99 and its very pleasant.

I just had all 3 of Sainsbury's Basics Snack Assortment varieties, and they are totally delicious at lunch time. Today I had the cheese flavour maize puffs (read: basics wotsits) and they are delicious and moreish with a really good taste. Only 3.7g of fat and 79 cals a bag too and nothing like MSG which I find impressive. I've also had the salt and vinegar sticks, the flavour isn't too strong which I like, and I'm yet to try the onion rings. I'll be taking these to work from now on - along with the oat and raisin cereal bar which I also rate highly!

    my kids love these:)

    Tuna PriceWatch latest:
    Up 10p to 55p

Well, it's now back down to 45p
so maybe get it before it goes up again.
I'll stop reporting every up & down now. Just never seen a Basics product that fluctuates so much.

I'm sure that their cooking bacon will have been mentioned many times. The chilled, I see that they do frozen and that is even cheaper, can't remember the figures though.
One pack that I had last week was almost all bacon steaks, I think I had 5 or 6 in the pack. Lovely, slice of pineapple cheap gammon steak.

Each time I go in I look for this and can't find it - do they not have it in all Sainsburys. Our is not a huge store, but it's not a local type one either.

Has anyone bought toilet paper recently? I was sure there's only one pack size but today I bought a 4 roll pack (and the rolls look smaller and thinner) instead of my usual 6 roll pack. I couldn't see another size in the aisle. Was it out of stock or has the product actually changed size?

Same here, none of the 6 pack with the big rolls for two weeks and the shelves were full with mini 4 packs. I'm hoping its just a stock issue as the 4 packs while still cheap are forever having to be replaced with being such small rolls.
