I just had all 3 of Sainsbury's Basics Snack Assortment varieties, and they are totally delicious at lunch time. Today I had the cheese flavour maize puffs (read: basics wotsits) and they are delicious and moreish with a really good taste. Only 3.7g of fat and 79 cals a bag too and nothing like MSG which I find impressive. I've also had the salt and vinegar sticks, the flavour isn't too strong which I like, and I'm yet to try the onion rings. I'll be taking these to work from now on - along with the oat and raisin cereal bar which I also rate highly!

I buy these every week & they are delicious. I had a pack of the onion rings earlier on & they were yummy. However, they keep going up in price. A few weeks ago they were 50 something p, now they are 76p. I hope they don't go up again next week.

I'm sure that their cooking bacon will have been mentioned many times. The chilled, I see that they do frozen and that is even cheaper, can't remember the figures though.
One pack that I had last week was almost all bacon steaks, I think I had 5 or 6 in the pack. Lovely, slice of pineapple cheap gammon steak.

just had a look and acually fresh is cheaper, it's £2 for 1kg of frozen
but £1 for 670kg of fresh making it £1,49 per kg it's always worth checking these things as you think bigger packs are cheaper when really there not

Bought the pack of 6 mini rolls last night and found I don't like them anymore :( They have a really chemically taste that I'm sure wasn't there before, plus the price is creeping up too!
D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't important

Basics Toilet rolls were down a couple pence last time I looked. I agree about the crisps and similar snacks...rocketed in price.

We did our first sainsburys basics shop last night, picking up everything we could find that had a basics label on it. So the hits so far are: Tortilla Chips; White choc and strawberry cereal bars; chocolate cereal bars; lettuce; pasta salad; salmon fillets; cooking bacon; ready made mash potato; wholemeal bread; white pitta breads; feta cheese; sausage and beans; mushrooms; soft cheese; gammon steaks; peppers; mixed herbs; mozzarella balls; crumpets; instant noodles; grated mozzarella; diced pork shoulder; sweet & sour sauce; mushroom tortellini; cheese & onion sandwich deli filler; tomato ketchup; salad potatoes; cooking bacon (chilled); sandwich bags; tomato pasta sauce; shower gel; naan breads; breakfast juice; fishermans pie (chilled). I'm sure the list will go on as we are very impressed so far.

Not so good is the instant coffee, but will try 2 spoonfuls next time I make a cup and see if its any better

We do our regular shopping in Sainsbury's, partly because my brother works there, and have tried various basics stuff over the years. The winners are:

Basics cheddar (although depends how strong you like your cheese!)
Basics carton chopped tomatoes in tomato juice
    All other basics tinned veg
Basics fresh fruit and veg, as long as you don't specifically want organic and aren't bothered about perfect shapes!
    Basics bacon

But the winner, in my opinion, has to be the Basics pack of 4 cheeses - you get wensleydale with cranberries, red leicester, cheddar and double gloucester with chives, in a little pack. Absolute bargain, and gorgeous!

Midget gems! 36p for a bag and they taste great. We stopped selling them at my store. I may get customers and colleagues to bombard CSD with product requests. No idea why we stopped selling them as the shelf emptied so quickly!

Hiya, the only things I've come across that I won't buy again is the pickle (meant to be like Branston) which just has a horrible taste and the penne pasta - even my children won't eat that it's so thick !
