I see that they have repackaged the basics shower gel and I think they have also changed the formula and price!
The packaging is smaller, the scent is improved and it seems to lather better. The price has gone from 30p to 10p.
    Well impressed

I fully agree with this!! Lathers much better and it smells a bit like melons now (rather than pine). The packaging is much smaller so I looked at an old version to see how much the content has reduced. I was really surprised to see that both the old and new version has 300ml content. Definitely going to stock up now.

I surprised myself with the tomato ketchup as I only liked Heinz previously - I actually prefer the Sainsbury version at 25p!

They don't have the gel in my store, or else it's always sold out.

I was excited to find the Basics shortbread recently, it's yummy but does anyone else think it is quite salty? Each biscuit has 0.15g of salt in, and you can taste it. They're still nice tasting but it's a bit unnecassary!

Basics nappy bags and baby wipes are both really good, I use the bags for sorting out the litter trays and the wipes are good for allsorts. Bags are 9p for 100 and wipes are 18p for 80, even better when they have the 1/3 off all baby products so tend to stockpile them then.

Basics instant mash powder is pretty good too, just the same as the branded stuff. Always needs pepping up with plenty of butter and salt but so do they all I think!

Another fan of the cooking bacon too, when you think of how much you pay for regular rashers that end up the size of a 50p coin after cooking anyway you can't go wrong. Recently put them in a quiche for my family, they all commented on how nice the bacon was.

6 pack of tinned cat food, kitty seemed more excited than usual when I opened the tin and purred while eating it so that was a thumbs up from her!
D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't important

Have bought the Basics museli today - will let you know what I think next week.

Am quite a big fan of the Basics range - the stuff I get I normally really enjoy :j

I quite fancy the muesli as well, tell us what you think of it. Count the number of sultanas and peachy bits in a plateful. :rotfl:

Hi there. Tried it this morning and it was absolutely fine - in fact a lot better than I expected and only 60 odd pence. Will buy again but it should last ages.

Also tried the basics apples - can't tell any difference. WOO!:j

I just had all 3 of Sainsbury's Basics Snack Assortment varieties, and they are totally delicious at lunch time. Today I had the cheese flavour maize puffs (read: basics wotsits) and they are delicious and moreish with a really good taste. Only 3.7g of fat and 79 cals a bag too and nothing like MSG which I find impressive. I've also had the salt and vinegar sticks, the flavour isn't too strong which I like, and I'm yet to try the onion rings. I'll be taking these to work from now on - along with the oat and raisin cereal bar which I also rate highly!
    Moneysaver and proud :)
