Just tried the oven chips. Huge bag for £1.75.
Brilliant! These will last me for months!:j0 -
I see that they have repackaged the basics shower gel and I think they have also changed the formula and price!
The packaging is smaller, the scent is improved and it seems to lather better. The price has gone from 30p to 10p.
Well impressed

Hello, has anyone tried the Basics Cornetto? I saw some in my Sainsburys the other day - a lot cheaper - may try some next weekMortgage FreeSave £5,000 in 2020[CENTER:j0

I get on really well with the following basics products:
Seafood Sticks
A milder but imho a nicer taste than Youngs or Sainsbury branded sticks. Less smelly too for non-fish eaters in the family. Have recently gone up from 50p to 75p, but still cheaper
Baked Beans
More watery maybe but great if you're on a diet - less calories than a normal tin - 49 per 100g compared to 90 on some, plus I usually add a little water so actually like them like this.
Chicken Breasts
I've bought both and sometimes find the basics better quality than branded.
Wrapping Foil/Cling Film
Recently gone up from 30p to 45p for foil, but still brilliant value.
Tomato Ketchup
I fill up a reusable squeezy bottle
UHT Milk
Tomatoes
Quality is just as good - just can't guarantee the variety week-to-week
Kitchen Roll
Shortbread
Great quick-fix to have in the cupboard
Peppers
Can go either way as I don't ever buy green ones - if the bag doesn't have any green in I grab these!
Not so good...
....and tended to not get on so well with mangoes and lettuces - for both of these I tend to find they're a lot smaller, and probably end up costing more per 100g of usable product. Cola, I also tend to go for the medium own brand.0
