snack crackers, like tuc, in a double pack yummy. Ginger biscuits, rich tea & digestives all yummy in fact I prefer the ginger biscuits to the best known brand, as they aren't so hard.
I found the loo rolls ok, not much difference between them & other shops own other than the price. I'm usually an andrex person.
Brie, isw very good, not as creamy as my fave cornish but loads cheaper.
Onion relish or chutney. Sweet pickle.
Flour, plain & self raising, I really can't see the differnce between basics & the top brands. Wish they'd start doing bread flour.0 -
I quite like the basics pineapple pieces. The juice from the pineapple is nice too.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Had the curry sauce tonight-really good & I don't usually like shop sauces as I don't use salt so always find shop stuff too salty, this was fine. Unbelievable value. I wouldn't have tried it if it weren't for all the good reviews
Also use & think they are fine, red kidney beans, mushy peas, sweetcorn.0 -
Basic cream cheese is good, also all basic choc especially the plain. I also like basic marmalade [grumpy says it is too sweet for him]. We have also had the basic pot noodles, [use these for OS winter picnic when we go out for the day, we take a flask of boiling water, tea bags, basics milk powder, packet basics choc digestives or home made fruit cake, a couple of bananas].

Just tried the basics chicken soup. Sorry guys- I couldn't get beyond two spoonfulls- and I normally eat everything as long as it fits into a bowl or onto a plate! The soup had little taste but seemd to aquire these white globuals on heating up. The globuals gave it a strange texture, I was not sure if they were fat, maize or some sort of man made filler but I suspect the latter. The fact the soup had no taste just left me feeling a little disturbed at the fact I was consuming additional calories but with no more joy then a heated up stock cube.
I do though think the be-good-to-yourself chick pea soup is nice and had that instead!0 -

I also thought the Basics chicken soup was horrible. The tomato and vegetable are quite nice.0 -

However, today, I have also bought to try the Basics noodles (9p) (am going to make these for my lunches with some stir fry veg to take to work) and Basics sandwich pickle (25p). Will let you know I get on.
