The Electric man has been and we have a new credit meter :j- still had £6.06 on the prepay but I'll make sure I get that credited to my account!
Also been shopping to Asda with DD. She drove me mad and now I have a banging headache - next time I'm waiting for OH to look after her no matter how low we might be on stuff! I let her buy some new snappers/hairslides and a new bigger mug for her drinks (I'm hoping that in the winter I will be able to make her up a mug of hot chocolate or something to have with her breakfast instead of a small cup of warm milk and she might actually finish it if she has her own "special" mug) she even paid for it herself and then carried it home in her little rucksack along with some teabags and the free Asda "Good for you" magsShe is definetly going for a rest once she has finished her banana and Tikkabilla has finished - she's lovely and quiet ATM with her mouth full for the first time today :rotfl:
I think I might tackle the ironing this afternoon. It's cool enough and I've run out of tops again. Then again the idea of making some chocolate cornflake cakes is temptingCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Pooky that is great news! :j
It's very hot here as well so I am avoiding the garden as much as poss! Just trying to finish the ironing before sun goes over the house and into the lounge - would be unbearable then!
I have decided to de clutter big time but have only managed unit in dining room so far, still a big sense of achievement. Must keep this up even if it's only a little every day.
Have to go and start using up contents of veg box before it goes off! Butternut Squash soup I think. Also have to pick more blackberries but will wait until it gets a bit cooler! Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

That's great news, Pooky! Really pleased for you!
OS Activity limited today to eating lefties from last nights salad for lunch, and fixing tonights tea. In fact, feel desperately non-OS at the mo because we've slipped with the Grocery Challenge, and had window-cleaner's been round today. Ho, hum.0 -
Pooky
Really pleased for you :j
Went to lidl and got a HUGE trolley of shopping.
Lemon and garlic chicken is in oven - soup in slow cooker- salad in bowl.
Just spent time reading about Andy88 being banned and pointing out how unfair it seems.
There is a thread on the vent board and one on "missing you" if anyone wants to add their views."This site is addictive!"

Afternoon all - am envying all this good weather you seem to be having - it's bucketing down here. Ah well...
Major house scrubbing down tonight as I've done no house work since sunday and I've people coming tommorrow  - the laminate needs a good wipe down as well as a brush and I've to sort out the laundry I left in the machine overnight too... last minute free pass to Charlie and the Chocolate factory beckoned a little too strongly last night...
I've got to go through my veggies and work out what needs souped as well - celery definitley does as it's very bendy (but still quite tasty) and I'm not at all sure what to do with the Khol Rabi I got with my veggie box last week either... soup may be a safe option! (Ideas welcomed!) I may also make a giant pot of mash to bag up and freeze ready for tired nights...mhhhh...cheesy mash...Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Does it begin with the letter e?Now: I'm not eating any of that pre-made rubbish...0 -
Your DD sounds absolutely lovely nicki! Bless her.
I popped into town this morning to do recycling etc. Now, I'm very proud of myself because for the first time EVER I came out with exactly what I went in for: bleach from Wilkos (BOGOF) and a loaf of bread (hangs head in shame that she doesn't bake own bread) from Tesco. This may not seem like a major achievement to some people, but to me it's amazing! Even though I was a bit hungry, I didn't get a chocolate bar even though they were on offer and I didn't buy a packet of crisps in Tesco just because............ I'm terrible for "just buying a little snack", but due to my "skintus maximus" status I realised that I had plenty of healthy snacks at home - fruit!!!!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -

Hi,
Stressful day today!!
DS2 got A2 results, signed on UCAS at 9a.m. and discovered unsuccessful for his first choice at Uni, but couldn't find out grades until the school line opened at 10, we were expecting the worst
It was a Scottish Uni, and they'd asked for 3 B's including a B in Maths, he got 2A's and 2C's, including an A in Maths!! Which an English Uni would have been OK with!! His school is livid, we don't think they'll be recommending people to apply there again. His school phoned them for an explanation, and they said it's the way they do it
Anyway contacted his second choice (which was 2nd partly because they'd wanted 2A's and a C which everyone advised was harder to get), and he's got a place there through clearing and applied for accommodation on line, so panic over. :j:j
The last of the visitors left of Monday, so been able to relax a bit. But we have to move out in 10 days time, so trying to empty our food supplies, and start the clean up tomorrow. But at least the temperatures have dropped at bit, it was up in the 30's again last week
Congratulations Pooky on the good news.
Congratulations N9EAV on the very successful fishing trip.0 -
Still not competely got over the bug i had last week so i'm still taking it a bit slowly. Made a loaf in the BM this morning and cooked a chicken in the slow cooker. Was given some lovely potatoes that make excellent jacket spuds. So we had that with a salad for lunch (again!). Loaf + cooked chicken = chicken sarnies for tea.
Went to college to pick up my A-level result that i took at evening classes this year. Surfice to say i had a bigon my face and i'll be splashing out on a glass of pepsi instead of asda own brand pop tonight!
