Beautiful evening here! I've just been out for a nice long walk, my son was on his scooter so it had to be a brisk walk to keep up with him (or try to!)
I once let my son come with me into town (1.5miles away) with his scooter, I practically ran there to keep up and on the way back he was so far ahead of me I banned him from ever using it again:rotfl: funny, because he reminded me of that this time and asked again for his scooter and I still say NO :rotfl:

    Evening.

Just a quick question, has anyone noticed a pattern in weight loss depending on what time they eat?

I am just cooking dinner now so won't eat for 20mins or so, am i eating too late? I think i might be.

I dieted last year (though only stuck at it for a month then!) and always ate earlier to OH and think that helped more.

I think this on may be down to individual bodies lilmissmup. Technically it shouldn't make any differnce - weight loss is based on calories in per day vs calories out, it doesn't matter what time you eat. We often don't eat until 8 or 9 in the evening and I haven't had a problem. In europe, it is very common to eat much later in the eveing. But others on here seem to find it does a make a difference to them. Personally I couldn't last from 6pm until breakfast with no further food. Perhaps experiment a bit and see I guess. The important thisng is why did you give up after a month last year? Was it in part becasue eating at different times made it too difficult/isolating? And eating with your partner is in general a good wayto spend time together, not in front of telly if you have both been out all day. It would see a shame to lose that bonding time. Also, rather that this being a 'diet' that take you away form normal life, it would seem better to incorporate healthy eating within normal living so it becomes a sustainable way of life. Hope that makes sense.

I quit last year as i wasn't overly unhappy with my shape but then it got to this year when my size 12s were becoming hard to do up and i was determined to not buy 14s!

Thanks for your comments BB, I might try eating earlier next week and see what happens along with the exercise.

Yeah, maybe we should all stick to hols in places where the folks are....generously proportioned;) . I'm OK cos I love Scotland (my thighs are well hidden under layers:rotfl: cos its freezin', and Germany, where people (apart from the teens--I dont care what they think) aren't really bothered what peeps look like. Believe me I've got the wobbly thighs to beat all:eek:

You'll just have to convince yourself you're a curvaceous (sp) goddess, and the rest are too skinny for...........ahem........real fun!

Hi George, I'd say a wii is fun, but much better to be out doing things with real people (and with a wii there's the danger that you get hooked on sitting down games and move even less).
It's a shame your cousin stopped doing tennis, could you join a club or go with someone else? The main thing is that you move as much as you can, whether it's swimming, walking, tennis, or whatever.
My kids love going to the junior gym sessions, some of their friends don't, try to work out what sort of things you enjoy and you're halfway there.
Can you ask your parents or an older relative for advice and support?
    Anytime;)

I was thinking about G30RG3. When I first read the post, I was shocked that a 12 year old would be worrying about dieting. But then i remember that I joined weight watchers the first time when I was 12 (!) and it didn't seem too young at the time. I knew I had weight to lose and i went week in week out for over a year I think, and lost over 4 stone. My mother was never good at helping me lose weight, as she always had 'naughty' foods in the house cos she wanted them. That said, she provided me with what I wanted to eat (I moved the household onto semi-skimmed and then skimmed milk!) and paid for me to go to the weigh-in every week. Sometimes though, parents can only be supportive to a certain extent and slimming clubs are needed for the rest.

Sadly, I am 30 now and still going through the battle with my weight. So in some cases I would say start as young as possible to be aware of what is healthy for you to eat and what can be avoided. Within moderation, of course. My biggest challenge is to try to educate my 2 year old daughter so that she has a fighting chance of not having the same weight/image issues that I have. Does anyone else worry about this?
