Hi Wendy, welcome to our lovely forum. You've come to the right place for lots of kind support. We have peeps of all ages here and a number who have lost 6+ stone or still working at it as well as some learning the hard road of maintaining their weight loss. No, water is not hugely significant on the thread here - a member just happened to mention it yesterday as something that works for her and want ed to share that, which is great. Some others find the same too. I know some find drinking water difficult so opt for the sugar free juice or flavoured water if that helps.I personally do not go along with the '2 litres' a day thing, but we each have to find what is right for us as individuals: some of us do sw and other ww, calorie count or healthy eating/portion control. Post often and share your difficulties. Do you know why you put two stone back on? Well done keeping off the 4 stone though.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
thanks brighton belle think i just got complacent, i'm just one of those people who just have to watch what they eat all the time and its hard admitting you're a pig i will just have to add more variety but its hardl:T Never Too Old to learn :T0

welcome wendy
can i just say congrats on losing all that weight, thats great:T as i know it is very easy to put weight back on after losing but you will lose it in no time.
I hate drinking water, dont think i drink enough as i am never thirsty but i am now making myself drink loads of water a day and cant belive the difference it had made to my hunger, i am hardly hungry between meals now and feel i have more energy:D
i have 6 stone to lose roughly, but aiming for small goals instead of saying ive got to lose 6 stone by such and such, not so daunting then.
Got to work out what i am doing for tea tonight, got fish but hubby wants it with a cheese sauce, looking back on my blog these last few days it shows a few meals are cheese related.
I am also cutting back on eating bread as this and chocolate is my downfall, as i make my own bread it tastes so much better than shop bought, too tempting:rotfl:

hya kyle ,when I lost all my weight i only concentrated on one stone at a time or should i say getting to the next stone down I was 18st 10lb and would rather have cut my tongue out than admit how much I weighed so all I wanted to do was get into the 17s,then the 16s and so on when i got to 12st 7lb i would tell anybody who would listen how much I was,but now I'm 14st 8lb I've started fibbing if people are rude enough to ask.Ps.could never resist hm bread so just buy small loaf for ohl:T Never Too Old to learn :T0

thats great wendy about setting targets, havent set a target yet but would love to lose between 1-2lb a week if possible, the worst for me is getting the right amount of exercise.
what does everyone else do?
just now i am going walks, try to go every day but some days i slack off, have my trampoline i use for 10 mins.

Morning Wendy,
I don't know if you have kitchen window in front of sink, onto any sort of outlook. This has become(I'm in week 2 only)my modus operandi for getting through 2 litres without too much deliberate awareness. My mugs take 1/3rd litre minimum comfortably(keep measuring jug/scales handy in the early stages, except I see you're already a successful weight loss queen and need no clues from a novice). I fill one, give it 40 m/w secs, and drink it tepid/lukewarm, as I gaze out over - this morning, for example - a wind-tossing world of scudding sky, rain splashing in water butts, forsythia dancing, Jenny Wren, M et MMe Merle foraging, ageing wet carpet over compost(very Bob Flowerdew), kerria starting to flower, rhubarb(reduced to 50p at B&Q)doing well in old bin, field through hedge greening up, poplars further off swaying........by which time, water's downed.
By not thinking of it too much, this way is helping and I put each 'w' on my chart.

I note your July benchmark - I'm looking at Bastille Day, so perhaps may we keep step?
mot's a week ahead again, but very much with us and always supportive and caring.
You're in excellent hands all round.
Good luck!CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Welcome Wendyw1947, congratulations on your previous weightloss and good luck getting 'back there and beyond'. You've done it once so you can do it again.
I also reached target several years ago and then it all slipped back on when I wasn't watching. I am fortunate to have reached target again and will admit that I find 'maintaining' almost harder than being on the diet.
The problem with maintaining is that you can now have a few treats - but you must know when to stop - if you are a serial muncher that is not always easy - I'm definitely a natural overeater.
The maintainers on this thread do it by different methods, I'm a fanatic calorie watcher and for me that is working. I wander round with my little record book in my bag - it is never far from my side. I write down everything I eat and keep a daily watch to keep my total calories within a certain range, but also a weekly watch to even out the meals out and the birthday cakes frequently brought in to work.
I'm not sure if I will ever be able to lose my little book without losing my focus. I think my habit might be bordering on 'obsessive compulsive' but hey - if it keeps the weight off I'm happy.
Stick with us especially when you get there.

Never heard that one frugal & heres me a Fifer born & bred!
I thought I better say which plan I am following and tell a bit about myself.
I tried SW 6 years ago and lost 3 stones, change of circumstances, stopped going and the usual happened - weight back on +more.
Tried Scottish Slimmers, but could not be bothered with all the weighing of food.
This year, a friend at work went back to SW and I dug out some recipe books I had, she also bought me a couple of new ones and I started myself.
I have scales at home and weigh in faithfully on a Tuesday morning. I only discovered the recipes on this site by searching for SW recipes and I am really pleased I did. I probably need to loose another 7 or 8 stones and that seems like ages way, but by setting mini targets and keeping it real I hope to do it.0
