Heya Pet  Hope you're ok? xxxx
Am feeling like a dog with two di... erm, bones this morning. Last week I emailed the website of my fave girly golfer to pass on a bit of encouragement and best wishes (I'm sad, I know) and got a personal reply this morning. Prob don't sound much, but Pet if you imagine getting a personal reply from Rafael Nadal.... same thing for me :)

Welcome to all the new folks from me too. You're in the right place, despite the funny look of that Suggs bloke.

*sigh* im feeling rather discouraged. i put a whole pound into the machine at the gym for it to tell me not only has my weight and bmi gone up but also my body fat percentage has gone up. i don't understand how i can actually be fatter (heavier yes but fatter?) when my clothes are looser, i can get ionto my size 12 stuff again and i look noticeably thinner.

meh meh meh guess i need to go back to using the gym gym on aqua aerobic and pilates days.

    welcome to the newbies.

porridge, i love porridge. when i was a kid i only got it when we went to my grans, she always had a pot of it on the range and it was always followed by a proper irish breakfast.

Hi Purplecat, sorry I did try to reply to this yesterday but got called away. I'm sorry you're feeling disheartened and I can understand why. Just wondering if the results are skewy - is this the same machine you always use for your results? How long have you been exercising now? To be honest, I would focus on how you feel about yourself and in your clothes and ignore the results - slightly frustrating I know but machines aren't perfect and as long as you're feeling better that's all that really matters.

Tagz, hope you get some positive answers today; glad the appointment went well Vix.
More to say but mashed, back later x

ps HI Pet, great to see ya! And welcome Mollymop, nice to see you over here too!

    Mornimg campers!

Well no news yet on DD's test results - tried calling them but they don't answer the phone:mad:. I'm hoping that if it was bad news they would have called us by now.

On a lighter note, I DID IT! I RAN ONE WHOLE LAP AROUND THE PARK!!!! :T It's one mile a lap. I usually run one side walk the the next and so on and the week before last I did 3 sides in one go. Missed last week but this morning managed it and not too out of puff either. I had to stop as I could feel a headache coming on and I mustn't push myself too hard (head thing). Did another 5 laps running a bit but walking mainly. Got a slight headache now so taken some tabs and drinking plenty of water. My friends couldn't believe it, I usually start with them and drop back after the first side.:D YIPPEE!

I'll see how I feel later and maybe do a bit on the crosstrainer.

    Love to all!
    I would if I could but I can't so I won't!

Hi Wendy, sorry I wasn't around earlier (having a lie in :p) Go with your instincts - if you feel you need medical advice about your back before starting new exercise, then do that or if you feel a couple of days more rest would be better then do that.

There's absolutely no rush to get started and you're the best judge :) If you decide to give it a go then don't feel you have to complete the workout or do every exercise straight away, some will work the back more than others and you can always skip those ones at first. Be sensible about it and keep well within your comfort level to begin with, and then you'll be able to build up from there.

Kymrob, what can I say? It's just dropping off you week after week! Well done again :D

Hi Petrichor thanks for checking in with us. Look after yourself and hope you have a great weekend m'dear.

Ajax, that's really sweet about the reply, I'm happy for you! I am wearing a girly polo shirt from my local golfing club today btw :p

Tagz good for you about the running! A full mile running is quite an achievement, not that I know anything about running but I've heard some people say the first full mile is the hardest and then it gets easier (I'm sure our runners will correct me if that's not the case)!
  • trampo.gifgreat to hear from you petrichor.xx
Kymrob - I just have to type your name and the laptop automatically types 'congratulations' now:rotfl:
Tagz - it's great to see you have cause to be so upbeat again - all fingers crossed for your DD. It's totally unacceptable for a kiddy to get arthritis as far as I am concerned and when I rule the universe they'll be a few things I'll be putting right I can tell you.
Wendy - I'd be tempted to give your back a day or two feeling better, but I no expert what so ever and I'm feeling tired so don't feel up to pilates myself :rotfl: .
Had a great night out unexpectedly last night. OH returned from new job saying his colleagues were meeting for a drink in the evening and he actually wanted to go. Such a miracle was this that we had to go. They were so friendly and welcoming, we had a great time, then walked all the way home and splurged on fish and chipsbelly.gif:D . Good job I'm not trying to shoehorn myself into the original wedding outfit today:D . It was really fun. Good to see OH happy and enthusiastic.
Suggs - have an excellent child free weekend. Don't do anything too 'strenuous' now will you - give those ribs a chance to heal:D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

was up at 4.30 making a cuppa wish I could lie in like other folk do!

Up at 4.30 eh? I finished work at 6am, I've been to Asda, taken poochie up on the moors for an hour, washed the car & had some cheese on toast. I'm back in work at 2pm, and had no sleep yet!!
