Gagging for something sweet this evening so have had a couple of oat biscuits with cranberry sauce on them (out of jam). Think it has done the trick.

Handed in my form for the running club at the gym, it's on tuesdays, but I don't want to start til next week. When I got back from the gym I took Shadow out for a jog, that's right, a jog!!
I didn't keep to a run/walk pattern, just did what I could. It was more a sort of test, to see the difference in running outside, and to see if Shadow would behave on the lead while I was running. She was very good, apart from crossing in front of me twice & almost tripping me! Shadow loved the change of pace, and it was nice to see her trot like the dobi's on Crufts, cos usually she sprints.
It was difficult for me, cos I couldn't keep the same pace, at the gym I can set the treadmill to a speed and keep it there, I had no idea if I was running too hard. I suppose it's just practice, and being with a group it should be easier.Debt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

How can I keep off weight once I have lost it? It is really difficult to do it by yourself. In one study of more than 1,000 women, those who regained the least weight had kept in regular touch with their mentors by phone or face-to-face. For the women who did return to their original weights, their greatest difficulty was carrying on with exercise. Once you have lost the weight, you need to keep in close touch with whoever helped you to do so - for years afterwards, even.
So peeps - we're all in the long haul sticking together.

Victory: Hope your pain goes away. As a daughter who nearly lost her father i can say for certain that the only thing i ever wished or wanted was that he was alive. He is disabled now, and yea i miss the times i would run down the road as he finished work and swung me round. But, if im realistic id be too heavy for him to do it even if he was able bodied! He's still my dad, i still love him and he still does the father job that he always has done regardless.
Infact, he has probably taught me more about life than what he would have able bodied. I look at him and think sodding hell. He went from being fit and walking, to the next minute nearly dead. On top of his injuries he then developed parkinsons which affected his mobility even more, but he still goes and walks the dog every day however long it takes him. He could have given up and done nothing but he hasnt, and for that im really proud of him. Im sure your sons see what you go through victory and think, even though my mum is in so much pain, she still managed to do that onion. It sounds silly but i bet its true.0 -
Everyone else has said such wise things to you, Tagz and Victory. I can't think of anything to add really.
I think you are both very brave people to share your thoughts and worries with us and I admire you so much for that.
Enormous love to you both.0 -

Thanks peeps:D I am not the kind of person that likes to ask for anything, that is why sometimes I get myself into a pickle of my own doing, kids should be kids and left alone, the hardships of life come later on:rolleyes: my eldest if you ask him something he says 'I get treated like a slave in this house, why are you asking me to do it? Get someone else to do it, it is always me':D however much I try to not make it him sometimes it has to be:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I am going to look into day care as you said, probably don't qualify but ask and they can say no:D I personally on a day like this would like to be admitted to hospital and put on a morphine drip but hey that is not allowed either or maybe knocked out until the pain goes:D
You will alll be pleased to know the onion is peeled:rotfl: :rotfl: how? Well with the electric knife that is normally used to cut up the meat on a roast day of course:rotfl: it may not be diced but it is chopped:rotfl: an onion is not going to drag me down:D
Vic your response to your son's extremely teenager-y comments...."I'm not your slave either?"
It works both ways. and whilst they may moan about it a bit of cooking ehre and there is not going to kill them and will set them for later in life. I used to share a kitchen with some girls at uni who didn't even know how to cook a chicken, and other really basic things. So I wouldn't feel guilty about making them do some stuff aroundthe house at all...Yes kids should be kids but they should also be taught to take care of others and think for others...Like BB said...life skills.
So I wouldn't worry too much about getting them to do stuff...When you're in pain make it a "damn right your my slaves" day0 -
Hey Serendisglair, you always come on here and make a cracking load of sense but we never get to hear how you're doing. How's the job etc going? All good in Le Willows? The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000
