I met a person at work today that has a serious allergy that could commatose her with salt, her diet is a nightmare, she has to cook absolutely everything from scratch, can't eat out, get any kind of foods processed, ready made, soups, cakes, pastries, crisps, breads have salt in, the list she was telling me, even a stock cube has salt in it, she never goes to houses for dinner unless she takes her own, her whole life is trying to avoid salt:eek:0

that would be a nightmare. its almost impossible to avoid salt completely.
speaking of salt is the salt necessary in the breadmaker recipie? if i cut it out will it make any difference? i know that sugar is for the yeast but the salt is for what?0 -

Victory – when I was doing the chart in Dec/Jan, you regarded your target weight as 80lbs lost, and when you put on 5lbs over the 2 xmas weeks, that is what you worked hard at Victory boot camp to get back too and succeeded. I notice now that your total loss is 83.3 lbs and you are stressing about ‘gaining’ 0.7lb this week. Please note you are still 3.3 lbs under your target (and you were 4lbs under): it sounds like you are only allowing yourself to sts or lose and never fluctuate up. This means that logically you only be content with sts or gradually losing more and more into underweight/ ‘impossible to maintain’ meltdown land. It is impossible for a body to be consistently sts week after week: it is normal to fluctuate at least a little up and down. I know you find what you perceive as a gain difficult:grouphug: , but I wanted to remind you it isn’t a true gain:A .
You felt good at 80lbs lost and were wearing clothes you felt good in. Remember – you can’t afford to have to buy the next size down AGAIN.
I have learnt many a thing on this thread, yes boot camp worked and I lost the 5lb at xmas (sheer determination) yes i know I can gain if left unattended 1lb a day as xmas showed, yes I am very hard on myself but not as hard as I was. I am only aiming for STS as you rightly say or a loss, a gain is not in it.
If I am honest I am mentally still on a diet, mentally thinking if I can only shift the 5lb that will take me to an exact stonage that will be me, done but also I know me and I know it won't end there, I am kidding myself and sometimes I catch a glimpse of me in the mirror and think christ is that really me, that thin? My body now has got used to what it eats, no huge cravings,no need for take aways, huge portions, bad foods etc don't bother me anymore, I eat what I enjoy, normal portions, healthy, happily and have the odd splurge but that is it, the odd time but when I do and have a gain as just happened it immediately makes me pull back and reminds me that I cannot eat as I would like ever again because I will just be the old me and I so want to stay this new me with the new clothes:D0 -
I hope that you're feeling a bit brighter now Nessa, an sts is better than a gain, but still annoying I know. I agree that meal planning may help you through this, I find that it helps me not only for slimming but also for money saving and organisational purposes. I say this, but I haven't done it for a couple of weeks
, I just can't get into it at the moment but when I do I find it :j ...
...Great news Bb I hope you enjoyed the walk, I think ordinary walking is much undervalued. DD and I will pop down to join you for dinner, we think it sounds yum!:D ...
...Bails and Bb Thanks re the depression stuff. Unfortunately there are a few of us here, I wish I knew the answer...
...Starlight Thank you for agreeing to have your pics on LW 20 :j and they aren't horror pics either!
xxxxI wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Thanks Petrichor
I am feeling much better now, it does help talking to people who know
I think organising things is another of my problems,
Take this week for instance I stayed at my partners the weekend, my flat monday, his place tuesday mine Wednesday and tonight I am at my daughters and tomorrow back to mine, the weekend at his PHEW!
I find I am carting food around all over the place, I took my car in for it's MOT today and when I picked it up was embarrassed to see 2 x onions and a tin of mush peas on the back seat !!!! Most women have chocolate in their car, no wonder I got strange looks when I collected it :rotfl:
Still I have got it off my chest now so thanks again

Victory - I think your progress over the time I have known you on the thread is wonderful
: you have been so willing to embrace the whole psychology around how you approach food and keeping the weight off. Your post to bails a week or so ago, when you expressed how much she had helped you change moved me to tears. It has been a joy to watch you learn and be so willing to be honest in sharing your difficulties (and triumps) and all this on top of coping with two debilitatings illnesses. You have done so well and continue to do so well. I knew you wouldn't mind me pointing out the numbers, just to refresh your memory, but defo not to chastise!
Starlight - that's brilliant you are up for front WL20. Go you. A well deserved accolade. The early months of this year have been tough for you but you have still been able to stay on track.
Nessa - I find putting in a few days effort to menus plan 2 weeks rolling menu releases me from having to think about food all the time. (But still leaves me the flexibility to swap days over to fit plans or mood). It is a real drag doing it, but perhaps do a little at a time and slowly built a 2 week plan? And ditto lunches? I can quite see how organisation is difficult with your being out and about in different places though. I do find I need to keep a food diary to stick to plan though. Don't do it all the time now but have just started again and I have got a little lax and need to refocus for a bit.
Purple Cat - I imagine the salt in bread is for flavour? I don't know though if it is important for the chemical process.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0
