Morning:D spent so much time this morning elsewhere on this site that have only just realised did not post this morning:rolleyes: been making monthly budgets, writing everything down to hte last penny is scary:rotfl: trying to find waste, ways to cut back but do all the right stuff now, change elec etc, car boot sales, buy meat at Asda when it is silly prices and freeze cook from scratch loads, I guess I am looking for more inspiration:D0

Victory, don't totally skint yourself for a house it just isn't worth it! When I was househunting, my dad told me 'never mind what they say you can and can't borrow. If it's anything like half your total monthly income, don't do it.' Every so often I have a little lurk on the DFW thread and wish some of those people had listened to my dad.
Thank you all for your very kind words and support yesterday, you got me through the day without packing up his stuff and dumping on the lawn. He came home a picture of misery, apologised profusely, said he knows he wouldn't be happy with anyone else but needs to know that he isn't going to resent me for him ending up without kids. He's not going anywhere but i think it's proablay going to rear it's head again before it's done.
I started the vinegar this morning Wendy! Don't kow why but I was surprised that they smelled like . . . vinegar. How odd.0 -
I know what you mean katie there is a load of stuff in the kitchen ready for the car boot sale (ebay is a waste of time to me, nothing sold) so when that goes it makes you wonder there is nothing else to sell apart from the clothes of our backs:rotfl: :rotfl: it is going to take our savings, our entire money and everything we have got really (all bar the car boot sale stuff which is not going to make us rich!!) so my practical brain says no stop, we will have no life, nothing don't do it but on the other I realise we have to get on the property ladder, we have to push it a bit as millions of people do, that it will be hard (apparently the first 2 years are make or break for couples/affording it etc) but do I want to live like that? Do the kids? OH is happy and smily because at last he gets a house with a garage:rotfl: :rotfl: but I am partial to my hol in Spain each year, there will be no spare money
Back to the GC thread to see if there is anything else I can cut back on, I know I don't drink but I do smoke and that surely now even more so has to go:rolleyes:
Funny thing is was watching cash in the attic and in this house we don't even have an attic:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: no hidden treasures here or any endownments etc to cash in, I am sure I am convincing myself against it here:rotfl: :rotfl: can't get over the fear of repossesion and I have not got it yet:rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

Sounds very good advice kpc, but the trouble is, housing in the south is so crippling: you can't get a 1 bed flat for under £120,000 in Brighton. My small 2 bed Victorian terrace (and the second bedroom is a single) is 'worth' "£240,000" mininmum. Obscene, and no use to me as I don't want to down size to a tent, but what are folk to do? I rent out the 'sitting' room and use the upstairs bedroom as a bed sit for us 2 just to make ends meet.
Really glad you and OH are 'ok'.
Struggling a bit this week not to over eat: not dropping the extra few lbs as quickly as I would like. OH's mum sent over a banoffie pie cheese cake yesterday. What's a girl to do (but eat it:D ).
Pet, I lurk elsewhere and only post here too.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Victory, firstly I hope you're feeling better today. I'm a bit worried by the talk of you being skint all your lives if you buy this house, if it is literally going to put you on the breadline for day to day living then what happens when your bills go up (as they always do )
As for ebay I have the exact opposite experience to you, I tried a car boot and made about a fiver, yet the stuff I brought back unsold already stands at over £100 on ebay!
Well done on the loss this week Petrichor! You're reminded me I need to update my sig too.
Vix, I like playing in the snow too and I'm a lot older than you! It's a shame to lose that, I think.
Suggs thank you for the congrats on my gain, I see you've been taking in what I've written in my previous posts very well! Thank you. Hope you enjoyed that Easter egg! I haven't been able to get my head around any of the betting things, I know I've been knee deep in ebaying and other stuff but I ought to be able to multi task better than that, being female and all

Oooh, missyg I did it, I did it. I've finally put something up on ebay. Ridiculously easy....I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0

Missy, you seemed pleased and not too down on yourself for the slight gain, so I thought congratulations were in order, I would be happy too if my gain was that small
(ok have a dig at me if you will) The easter egg was lovely and I still have a raging sweetooth, always have though. The betting thing took me time, but essentialy its 'free' money in my case bet the £10, gained £50, so worst case was I would be £40 up, as it was I was £56 up

ahh well probably better for the kids not to have me as a mother anyway lol
Hmm, thats not fair though. I could understand if it was the mental illness beggining with S that i cant even try and spell! I have no idea about bipolar, only untill i watched kerry katona on that rubbish programme because apparently she has it. She has a few children too though. Why would there be a difference if you could make one yourself to adopting? Much worse people have babies.
KPC: dont think that rule would work for me either, regarding BB's comment! Im a southy too just more in the east direction. I would have to live in rubbish dover to get any form of cheap housing, right next door to a few illegals no doubtRegarding you and your partner: who knows what the future will bring? I wish you both luck though.
I still feel rubbish. I can manage about half hour being up right. Getting the urge to go horizontal againciao peeps

talking will need to be had, I was joking last week that I cant wait for my midlife crisis so I can spend a fortune :j but if ajax allows KPC :grouphug:
......gerroff KPC, she's mine. You're Pet's hunk, no don't be strayin'.Chin up one and all, the week has started and so should we.
...... that's the problem mate, it's chinS plural!
Victory, if budgeting for the house needs thought then I'd be very careful at the moment. I really think base rates would be at least 1% higher if it wasn't for this crunch, and the crunch will be temporary. When it's over and the MPC can focus on inflation - like they really want to - then base rates will shoot up. Just my opinion.0
