yeah vix thats what gets my goat.
well done marion. i dont get notifications for this thread half the time either. it is this thread is jinxed or something.
meh according to the scales at the gym my weight has gone right back up again higher than its ever been. but shall see what my scales say tomorrow. mega !!!!ed off about that. (and of course assuming that my friend there was being nice when she said its obvious i have lost weight). might actually get the tape measure out again and see what it says.
surely it cant still be muscles growing or whatever they do after 2months of daily exercise. please convince me it is just that.0 -
retiredlady, email notifications are a bit hit and miss with me at the moment - not just this thread but others too.
missyg, congratulations on your 0.5lbs - almost equals a sts
victory/missyg - boot fairs are always a waste of my time, my DD always comes away with a profit though - I'm obviously selling the wrong stuff - she sells her 'old' toys. The lack of sales when you listed victory were probably due to the fact that so many people were listing to get the benefit of the reduced fees. I have heard it said on the ebay threads that free/cheap listing days aren't worth it because the market is saturated. There are certain things I know will sell on Ebay and I only list those - I'm fed up paying fees and making no/little profit. Amazon/Play are both good because you only pay once the item has sold - but you must factor in the postage and packing (and it's only for limited types of items).
victory - I have saved so much money on the Grocery Challenge, but have not gone without. The family love all the home cooking I am now doing. It takes more time but is healthier on the wallet as well as the body. We will easily afford a holiday this year just by not wasting so much money at the supermarket. We only have 1 takeaway a month now and it is more of a special treat - I also don't feel so 'yukky' afterwards.
pet - you're right about the speed of the posting on the GC thread - I really struggle to keep up - but the hints and tips are great - hope to see you there too.

wow Marion! Go you!
Yeah, BB, I know it might be a bit unrealistic now, but it has stayed with me. Whenever I look at houses or mortgages, I always break it down to what the monthly payment is and assess it against my salary and other outgoings. at my mums tonight, will do oh good to have a night on his own i think! And i get to play with the dog which is also fun. Off to a food show at the NEC tomorrow - will have to try to stay good!0 -
Proud of you BB! Good luck with the auction.
I've had a great MSE day, won't bore everyone with the little details cos it was only a few small things but they all add up! So bemused that I've banked £2k extra this year already AND had an unexpected holiday.
Diet has been out the window today but I've allowed myself one day and then back on the straight and narrow (rather than the FOUR days I allowed myself last week :rotfl: )
Chipper, have you looked at energy tablets such as Lucozade tablets together with maybe a low-cal lemon squash (which is mostly water). May not be any better than an energy drink but just a suggestion off the top of my head.
Marion - FANTASTIC! We are steadily proving that holiday gains aren't real gains at all, but that is some achievement! You must be delighted!
I don't get email notifications, I just sign in and use the link to get to my subscribed threads.
FFM thanks! I'm bound to get a STS sometime?! I must have had everything else :rotfl:0 -
Hello
I haven't logged onto MSE for ages, and tonight I decided to have a quick peep at the thread and read a couple of really nice messages proving that I've gone but I'm not forgotten - thank you dellybelly and petrichor.
It's been a difficult few months in many ways, but I think I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. The Las Vegas holiday had to be cancelled as my DH was taken ill suddenly in December and is due to have open heart surgery next week (so ignore the signature). Sadly, I think I've gained the weight I was aiming to lose instead of losing it, and as a result I haven't been in the frame of mind to follow this thread or post, BUT, I decided to make today Day One and here I am.
I'm not promising to be a regular poster just yet - still too much on my plate, but I'll be popping in and out, and look forward to getting to know people and reacquainting myself with everyone I know.
