Couldn't mark the pitch today as no-one had a key to get into the lockup where the line marker was kept...
Stayed at home all day with the boys, they were a bit tired and not really up for anything.
Been to the quiz night tonight, spent a quid on the entry fee and had a drink bought for me. We came well down the field.
Off to London tomorrow on a booked job, might even have another one to Truro on Wednesday....:j0 -
Today didn't exactly turn out as I thought it would....
Did the morning post run and set off for London. Stopped at Membury Services on the way as the exhaust was blowing big time. Couldn't take the chance of going on further so turned back only to find that when I got back, it was only the baffles that weren't right....
Too late to return to London by then so ended up meeting the football coach and marking out the football pitch. Bright sunshine, driving rain, drizzle, high winds and warmth... we had it all! . Got it all done except for the centre circle which we'll do on Wednesday...
Tomorrow sees me heading along the M4 again to try London again plus the morning / evening post runs.0 -
Hope the car behaves today.

Much better day today. Got an absolute flyer into London today, leaving Bristol at 7.45am and arriving at the customer's office in EC2 shortly after 10.00am. Lucky coming back too arriving back inside 2.5 hours too even with a stop for lunch at Reading Services on the way back. :j
Still, earned a buck or two today so a good day really. Boys are coming round tomorrow for four whole days. Mum's off to two concerts on Thursday and Saturday so it was easier all round to have them on a block booking till Sunday night. We have two training sessions on Wednesday and Friday night plus football on Saturday afternoon too.:D0 -
Pretty good day today on the whole.
Morning post run this, er, morning, then back home for a coffee then out to do the paper round. Tried a new system today where I do the papers and the leaflets together instead of separately and it seemed to work. Basically, I have 250 papers to do plus 250 x however many leaflets there are. This week there was eight so I can really only fit 45-50 houses at a time in my bag....in the end, did the whole round in 2 hours 20 minutes which knocked around an hour and a quarter off last week's time....:T
Picked the boys up at 5.30pm, took them to football training, back home, quick bath then settle down for the England match..
Tomorrow we're up very early for the post run, then off to the sorting office to pick my DD1's present up . Back home to wrap it, write the card then we're all going down to give it to her. DS1 gets his exam results tomorrow, he's a wee bit nervous about it naturally.0 -
Had company on the morning post run today. Thought I might wake up and drive off without the boys ( staying with me for four days ) because I'm not used to having them stay in the week but they woke up and came down as I was doing breakfast....:D
Went to see DD1 and DS1 in Dorset today. DD1 was thirteen on Tuesday so we took her presents down. Picked today rather than two days ago because DS1 was getting his exam results today. Although they weren't what he was really capable of, he got an A and four B's which will get him into the sixth form where he wants to go.:T
Drove back tonight, chilled out and boys went to bed about an hour ago. I've started working on the next football programme. One of the five articles I write is basically a view from the opposing team. Last week, I approached the manager of a celebrity who supports this team and he said that his client might do the feature for me which will be a real coup...:T
Tomorrow has a morning post run, football training and a bath in the evening and not much else....0 -
Great exam results for DS1! A chip off the old block then? (sorry
couldn't resist)
Who's the celeb then? Tell all!0 -
Morning post at 7.00am, back for breakfast then chilled all day as we'll be out for most of the weekend. Took the boys football training tonight so they flaked out after their bath tonight...:D
Just sorting out some paperwork then going to bed as the drunken texts are arriving thick and fast....:mad:0 -

Went back to Yeovil today to see our team draw 1-1 with the mighty Leeds United. Spent £3.00 on a programme, £2.00 on car parking, a pound on a Golden Gamble and £2.00 on a Bovril and a KitKat. Brought the boys Maltesers for their half-time snack as they don't like the chocolate they sell there so would have wanted a dear sausage roll instead. So DFW..... sort of!:D0
