There are stores dotted around the country (trade under the name 'The Computer World' or 'The Computer Store' - can't remember which one they used lately!) - white writing on red background frontage.

However - the stores are closed and I very much doubt they will reopen, even for a clearance.

If you really want to grab a bargain Time/Tiny, the supermarket chains such as Tesco/Asda that sell their systems *might* clear them due to the lack of a valid warranty.

The computer store - PC world objected to "the computer world" (just another indication of how dodgy they are?) ;-)
  • My mother recently purchased two laptops from them ordered in April finally arrived 1st July after she spent ages on the phone and finally told them to cancel and emailed the same but amazingly they arrived not long after this !!
The reason for my post is does anyone know about what will happen to the insurance taken out and can in be cancelled under cooling off period as paid for in April cash sale on cc but only received laptops this month.
And it was a 3 yr insurance taken at £119 i believe so no point having it if they cannot honour it ?? what can she do ?? if anything ??

I'm going to move this thread over to Shop but don't drop now as the offer originally mentioned is clearly not available any more, and there is a thread already discussing the Time/Tiny demise which this can be split/merged into.

They have also set up a help line for customers and creditors and people who have made recent orders but not received their goods. Call 0870 381 7097 if you fall into one of those categories.
