Tiny / Time Computer Bargains? (merged)
Comments

OK - don't suppose you have any thoughts on where to get a good bargain PC from (problem is I want powerful and cheap) - only need the box as everything else is good.0

If you buy the PC through a credit card then the CC company will be liable for any faults/problems if the company bankrupts again (and relaunches again;)).0

I am *LOVING* this story, and the comments that come with it. If that doesn't convince people that the company are full of liars up to the highest positions, then I don't know what will.
The only thing that's interesting is that some of the comments about plasmas may indicate that was the downfall of the company.
<edit> and this one as well. For me that's enough to say that all the people telling us to avoid time/tiny were absolutely right.
and let me say while I love the story - I feel proper sorry for all the ordinary staff being done over, and those that are going to have problems getting their money back.....0 -
I would AVOID them I bought a computer of them a few years ago. Shortly after they went " bankrupt" but were sneaky and just changed there name slightily. I had taken out a three year online service warranty which they would not honour ( being a different company ). So I was out several hundred pounds and had a computer with no warranty, never mind the extended service. Thank goodness my computer never had any problems or I would have lost out tons ( however I am sure some people were not so lucky) .
So I would NEVER buy anything from a company so corrupt .:mad:0 -
thanks for this post - my dad was going to buy a laptop from them last week, but we put him off for a bit by advising him to get a dell one instead - didn't know anything about them closing at the time - am so glad he didn't order one.0

Reading the forum link posted by bytie bit, it seems like don't touch a tiny computer! (even on a CC if they can process it).
I do feel for the employees after reading.0 -

Tiny have gone bust five/six times in the last 20 years, each time being bought out and restarted because they had sold so many PCs. Time bought them last time round, when Tiny were twice the size of them. I'm not surprised it's all gone wrong - Time took on more than they could handle by buying Tiny, opening a load of stores when they had no retail experience, and opening stores in other countries as well.
Someone else will buy it up - and seeing the original owners of Time bailed out about 12 months ago it'll probably be them.0 -
The company behind Tiny and Time computers is folding so i would pop along to your nearest if you want a cheepo bargain.
To some, I know, that even a FREE time computer is too expensive, though.
