Personally if I was compensating someone I would want proof of the actual payment made and not an estimate.
wouldn't you?2014 Target;

Karen,
all you have to prove is that the work has been carried out, not proof of payment unless you are claiming a refund, where in that case you will need to provide a receipt (either you or your mechanic). but if you just want a full refund and give the vehicle back under the sales of goods act, all you have to do is prove that there was a fault, then you can claim reasonable expenses and compensation.0 -

That isn't correct. If you are claiming for costs paid, then it is entirely reasonable - and very suspicious if you don't comply - to request proof.0 -
Yes, I see no reason why you wouldn't give them a copy of the receipt. Get the issues resolved and put it behind you.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

I did re-read it and find it extremely confusing. The OP is claiming, as I understand it, costs of repair. Therefore your comment "all you have to prove is that the work has been carried out, not proof of payment" is confusing.0 -
Thank peeps.
I will supply the receipts, but I'm still perplexed at them lying to my mechanic.
The only reason they weren't supplied was I was overwhelmed by the amount of evidence I supplied to the courts.0 -
I'm claiming cost of repair, car hire whilst it was repaired, breech of warranty, inconvenience & stress caused plus interest & breech of sales of goods act.0

My vehicle is a 'runabout'. The axle was broke & they were informed 7 days after purchase.
Search 'evanshalshaw-nightmare' it's my blog for added info.0
