Hmmm....no overpayment this month I don't think. OH has been on a big spending spree and I've had to buy an outfit for prom (£60..inc accessaries). He's really doing my head in at the mo. I can't get OH to do anything on the house. He just makes excuses constantly.

His current one is that I'll be done in 2 weeks so it's best to wait till then. I'm really upset about it because I know he'll say...oh it's ok for you when I'm off - you weren't at work all day yesterday.

All the money I'm trying to save is going on the bills because he just keeps throwing away his money! ARGH.

Rant over. It's my birthday on Monday and I can't really see anything happening either and I think I'm perhaps just being a bit sensitive.

I did go out last night though for a meal with work to a chinese and spent nothing!! I don't like chinese food so only had a plate of chips with curry sauce. They all felt bad they'd had a banquet and I'd had nothing so refused to let me pay! Yey! Going out again tonight for OH's grandmas birthday...she's insistent that she pays (because we normally do and tonights her birthday so we can't argue apparently) so another free night!

We are however getting the builders round on Thursday to quote for building the shed thing and sorting out our yard for us. Fingers crossed that will be reasonable. And fingers crossed it will kick start my OH!\

I am trying to prove a point today by having cleaned the kitchen already and done the washing up...put a wash on and hung it out...sorted the finances and am now having a bit of a break before doing some school work!

Had a lovely weekend what with going out on Friday for the works do. And then last night for OH's grandmas and uncles birthday. I got a tad too drunk and have suffered for it today! Ahem.

Still, it's been a pretty cheap old weekend if you take into account everything we've been up too! OH's uncle lives in yorkshire, where we were looking at going on hoilday and he's offered to let us stay at his house - as long as we do the pub quiz!!! So we might yet have a budget holiday as well! Very exciting!

I've also got OH to commit to a 5 day turn around in the living room....we will get it decorated - oh yes we will! I'm fed up of living with stripped walls. It's very upsetting. So I feel like progress has been made today!

Had a lovely birthday so far - considering I've been at work all day. OH took a half day from work and was waiting with bucks fizz when I got it. LOVELY! Still I miss having lots of money thrust my way when I open my cards! Ahhh to be a little girl again! Ha ha ha.

Living room hasn't been started yet due to us not being in much over the last week...it's the same for the following I'm afraid! Sooooo it will get started on as soon as I finish school! However, the builder is coming on Thursday so he might start doing other things first!!! Hmmm....

There has been much chucking out and sorting though of things throughout the house. In fact, for the state it's in (the house) it's looking imaculate! Yey

Ahh, Young Love... (was that what you had in mind SMF2?).

If I told you I gave up parties for my birthday at the age of 6 apart from late teens and twenties in the pub, that would sum up my attitude. Frequently abroad on business for my birthday every year as it falls in the time when I'm at a recurring annual conference in the US or in Houston just before it... but, I do need to do more to celebrate OH's birthday so will do so next year when hopefully we'll be MF but 45!

(Actually time seems to be marked more and more by DD's term times etc than our birthdays, and hopefully from next year on we can "celebrate" whenever we like - within reason!)

Hopefully with the builder coming in you'll both be extra up for getting the living room sorted in record time :)

:D I'm honoured that you confused me with SMF2 Stu....I shall refrain myself from mentioning memory loss and age ....runs for cover......

I don't do birthdays Stuart either...I'm just happy if people remember and say Happy birthday to be honest. I'm already worrying about my OH's big 40 this year and what to do for it.

I only had one birthday party when I was 6 I think and I had a magician....I hated it and my parents vowed never again! Actually, that makes us all liers because I had an 18th birthday party!!! Ha ha ha....but I don't actually remember that because I was plied with alcohol. Apparently I made a speech and everything!

Anyway, good news for me today. Car insurance renewal came through - we'd budgeted £750. It's actually £565! So we are really pleased with that. Tried all the comparison sites and can't get it from anyone else below £700!!! Woo hoo!

Other good news is that I have Tuesday off work and so can go to hubbies graduation. Which means I now only have 5 and a half days left of school!!!! ARGH! I'm too excited!! CAN NOT WAIT!

Right, time to reheat the left over pizza!!! :j

No real defence on my part, posted at only 2245 and been up since 0500 so not exactly late.... guess you're right it must be age, in which case a brisk walk would be enough :o

Actually I don't feel particularly "old" - I think your outlook and manner has more to do with the perception you create once past a certain point say 38-40?

I will read more carefully in future :D
