I'm really down today. I really miss being in Breckenridge. I miss the people, the lifestyle, the place....just everything. I really hate living where I live but OH is being logical about it all and keeping me in check.

Maybe if we lived in a nicer area, or if I saw my friends more I wouldn't feel so bad. It's odd. Over there people make a real effort to see each other - but here that really doesn't seem to happen.

I don't know...maybe I'm just feeling unloved. I guess it's my own fault really for not putting myself out there. But school has been all encompassing this year and I've been trying to save money. Bah!

    Twinklie,

Is it another area or whole other town you want to live in?

I feel like that a lot too - I even got another job and moved back to where I wanted to be but couldn't sell my house here and ended up moving back here anyway!

Now its ok, I've felt a lot better after making myself go out and meet people and do things - it really does make a difference!

The biggest thing I do miss is the people, but I try to make sure I'm always around for the big things - birthdays etc.

Now I feel a lot more settled, and now that my mortgage is slowly creeping down I feel I have more control and choice.

I know you said you haven't seen others much as you have been saving money - I guess theres a balance - I haven't gotten it yet! But the good finances you'll have in the future will give you a lot of freedom.

    Hope ou feel better soon

Cheers. It's the area and the town. I guess its the culture too. Unless it involves drinking people just don't seem to be interested. I want to go and explore and see and do things - but no one is interested.

I've not stayed in due to money so I shouldn't blame the moneysaving really. I want to travel too....I've got itchy feet which isn't helping. Ha ha.

I got signed off today at work...so no longer am I an NQT! I'm now a fully qualified teacher!! Woo hoo! The head teacher got me a pen for my troubles! Bless!

Got the day off tomorrow as well to go to my OH's graduation ceremony! Should be a lovely day. His dad is going and his grandma should have been but she was taken into hospital earlier. Which reminds me he wants go visit her in the hospital shortly.

Anyway it now means that we get to go out for tea tomorrow which I'm excited about!! Yey

Well done on being "signed off" as a fully fledged teacher :j

Regarding people and meeting or otherwise, I was mulling this a little myself; in our case the various moves of us and friends around the country for jobs then arrival of children impacted. Five families met up a couple of times, including us, but later we weren't there as it was the same location again (6-7hrs drive away for us) and to be honest we hate revisiting locations when there are so many to see. Also when I was away 25-30% of the year, weekends often lost in part or whole, it made me reticent to lose yet more to be away when things needed to be done at home or just to recover...

I travel much less now, but turned down last invite as it was the day after I returned from US 2week trip so I knew I'd be jet lagged and totally bushed (not great company in other words). Regrets, yes, but also life moves onwards and finding common ground for discussion when you see each other once a year or so, other than yet again reminiscing can be tricky, when you need to avoid discussion of anything financial and similar, plus you have very different careers....

I had anticipated that involvement in our community would have led to establishing more friendships, but it tends to be limited to a few social events. As you note, I think we need to make greater efforts here where we live now.... certainly food for thought for me, thanks.

I'm feeling much happier today...not least because I'm not at work...ha ha ha. It' OH's graduation so I have the day off. I'm so proud of him and can't wait to spend the day making a fuss!

Unforuntately his gran isn't coming with us anymore because she is in hospital (which she couldn't stop apologising for...bless her). So it's just me, OH and FIL! Should still be a lovely day though and I love my FIL! Taking us all our for a meal which isn't very moneysaving! But if you can't celebrate such achievements....when can you?

My new little nephew should come anytime too! Apparently he's getting ready to burst out. She's not in labour yet but has started to feel "different" and her due date is tomorrow so fingers crossed. I missed out with my nephew because they were down in Wales and I was still at school so couldn't travel down to see them when I wanted. This one however is round the corner so should get the opportunity to do some babysitting eventually! Yey!

As for the socialisation thing Stuart....I think I've given us both food for thought there!

One more get up!!! Then it's the holidays....am I excited??? No. I have had loads of coursework for classes I'm taking over dumped on me! Nice. Can't really say anything because the teacher that's done it is a member of SLT! Boo.

I'm not very happy, I have all the stuff for my MSc to do, a SOW to write and then my lessons to plan as well - I only just found out what...or rather whom I'm teaching and where the classes are up to! Soooo it looks as though it's going to be another week or two of work yet!

Although OH has just told me he's taken next week off to spend some time with me! A blessing and a curse I feel! Would rather just crack on and keep working. Nevermind, a break might make me more productive! We shall see.

Managed to sort my room out earlier which was a bonus. My room is all clean and tidy and ready for starting in September! Just need to figure out what I'm actually doing in September now. ha ha
