OOOh no danger of me not enjoying it. I'm taking the hubby to where I used to live in US back when I was a ski bum! Some of my friends still live out there (although they've got grown up jobs now), and one is due to have a baby more or less as we arrive which is exciting!

I'm sooooo excited about just having 2 weeks out with the OH. Not seen much of each other since we got married...lol.

So excited you lost your voice?
Not good before such a trip as I get the impression you'll need it there to catch up with old friends. Hope rest allows it to recover.

Nope, as predicted my throat and voice are back to fighting fitness today. It's like there was nothing wrong at all. Except for my snottiness.

I am however in a vile mood. Came home to find other half tucked up in bed...didn't go to work today cos he's poorly. However, seems to think thats a license to rant at me. He just had a right go over nothing. Soooooooo I've walked off and left him to it. Grrrrr.......

Still, I got the pass for term 1 today. Just gotta finish filling in that VERY dull form tomorrow.

Well, I'm soooooooo excited about finishing on Friday! CANNOT WAIT! Coming home for about 1.30pm and going out for dinner with the other half. We are even going to walk so that we can both have a drink. It'll only be one glass of vino, but we both believe in zero drinking if driving. I was run over by a drunk driver so I feel strongly about it.

Anyway, had £5 to spend on secret santa. Couldn't figure out what to buy so got a bottle of red wine. I drew the IT guy and I don't know him so my OH said that would be good enough. He reckons if he doesn't like it he'll just pass it on as an xmas pressie. Who knows!!

I got my hair chopped off today too. I'm looking incredibly sexy according to the OH, which is always good. Ha ha.

I can't believe this time next week I'll be back in the US. I'm so excited to see the old place again. Wonder who lives in my apartment. Sooooo excited.

Had a bit of a rubbish day today!! Everything was going well until one of the kids who is in my form and whom I happen to teach decided to flip. Shes undergoing evaluation at the minute because she's very very messed up and is self harming quite badly. So that brought me down a bit.

But then I was told that one of the nicest kids in the world is getting told tonight that this christmas is the last one he will have with his mum. She's just be diagnosed with very aggressive cancer. He's also in my form and I feel so bad for him. Hes just sooooo lovely, very gentle and very sensitive. I'm assuming he won't be in until after xmas now, but I hope he's ok. What a horrible thing to have to go through.

I can see some very tough times ahead for that lad...the poor thing.

These show that there are times when you can't plan and events happen which impact severely yet are outwith our ability to influence directly. I hope that both the young people you mention can gain some foundation to build their life upon via your teaching and coaching, despite the challenges they face now. That said, you do need also to be able to disconnect from such issues for you and your OH in your own personal time and I hope you can do so with the holiday coming up.

Yeah cheers Stuart, I'm not bringing emotional baggage home with me. But at the same time I still feel shocking for him.

Having said that I did have a good blub on the way home listening to the radio over the Rhyce Jones murder conviction. They proper pulled on the heart strings and it was making me think of my nephew.

I must be growing up cos things like that have never bothered me before. My OH says its my maternal side kicking in getting ready for babies!! You can't guess he wants them can you. ha ha

Had a much better day today and all is ok. Both of the above kids were in and functioning so fingers crossed they'll be ok. And our yr 11's did their mock exam today. Marking them either tomorrow or Thursday....not nervous at all!

I'm not actually, but I kinda want some to do badly because they are getting far too complacent!

I'm taking my hamster to her holiday home tonight, she'll be there till Jan. Then its home for Champers as its our first wedding Anniversary. Yey!

Plus I marked my mock exam papers and all my students except 3 went up at least 1 grade some 2!! And one from a C to an A*. His last teacher wouldn't enter him for higher but I have and am chuffed as nuts about it. Just hope I get these results for the real thing.

FINGERS CROSSED! I feel like a proud parent and want to tell everyone about it! Yey!
