Both my kids are at High School and love science. My eldest is doing triple science and comes home all fired up and excited with the things he has been learning at school, which I think is totally brilliant. Keep up the good work all you science teachers:T:T:T:T We totally need more folk like you, IMHO.:D0

I loooooooooooooved Science at school, had a brilliant teacher at middle school and at upper school. The practical sessions were great, we all enjoyed them.0

Only passed O level chemistry cos I got sent to the same corner for talking every week & memorised the poster on the wall about iron & steel making - managed a cracking answer in exam, complete with diagram :rotfl: .
I liked putting the sodium, magnesium & potassium into water.
I also liked going in the back room with my male 'best friend' to update our slide drawings for A level biology, but that's a different story.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

I teach secondary French and love it most of the time - esp. when I don't have hours of meetings after school!!
I was recently off ill with viral meningitis and when I got back, the children aged about 14 said they had a supply teacher that 'let them get into each other' in class:eek: !

OMG! What kinda supply teacher does that???
One of my yr 9s reliably informed me that one of the others swallows today! Which was a bit shocking since in the same breath he'd been explaining his definition of mass and weight to me!!! Not sure how he made the connection!
Still, I think I've avoided anything too saucy or gross up to now. And there is certainly no fondling or hand holding in my classes (unless they are modelling particles...ha ha).
Must admit I'm exhausted now though. I'm in bed by 10.30 at the latest and I'm still only just managing to function during the day. I NEED half term. I'm using all my energy just to string a sentence together at the mo. I don't wanna be a rubbish teacher, but through exhaustion I feel I don't have the energy to put into being creative with my lessons at the moment.
I'm trying my best though. Had a few meetings about how they want me to try different AFL strategies too, which I think sound great. But the level of effort required to try and implement them at the minute is just mind boggling. It will have to wait till after the holidays I think. I'll be less tired and able to make a proper go of it then. I hope!

Seriously though you are working hard and rightly looking to make an impact in the role,do try to schedule your time off to include some downtime, any planning work you need to do and some "me time" to enjoy yourself. Hopefully this will recharge you for the dark days after the clocks go back to GMT.0 -
Cheers folks. Yeah aside from last weekend due to going to uni for the MSc, I always try and snatch some US time for me and the hubby. Call us mad but we decided getting married in the middle of my PGCE was a good idea and we've hardly seen each other since....lol.
I love him loads though, he's been sooooooo supportive and understanding. I'm so lucky to have him. Don't tell him though, he'll get a big head.
To top my week off...I have OFSTED next Thursday! Boo....gutted. I'm soooo not playing that day. It's just rude!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
