yep I hear you on the control thing .... though I am learning to let go :)
havent done the bombshell thing for a good many years either, I think it was definitely an insecurity thing for me...
but as you say, here we are! and dwelling doesnt do a lot of good , I am glad to have taken the "positives" from it as I think with that I have achieved a lot at a fairly young age, and the negatives I am learning to leave by the by..

I had to laugh when you talked about DH booking the holiday in the wrong name.... oh dear! men eh?

good luck with your to do's , what age do you teach? Im assuming secondary/6th form with the psychology stuff?

I teach secondary science...the psychology is one I'm trying to get put onto the curriculum and so I teach it after school at the minute. However, hopefully from September 2011, I'll be teaching it as part of the timetable. It's very exciting.

I'm also assistant curriculum leader for this year (maternity cover), I'm doing it as a try before I buy in terms of - do I like it and do I want to go down this line with my career. We shall see. I figure as I'm 30 next year its a good way of deciding where I want to go with my career etc.

How old are you if you don't mind me asking? What do you do? I know I could just read it on your diary (probably) but I really can't be bother looking for the info. Little Belle is being a pain this morning...sticking her nose into everything she shouldn't. :rotfl:

thats cool- hope you get to teach the psych in school soon! I loved it at school but it wasnt an option for us until post 16 if I remember right! hope the new post sheds some light on where to go next ... I am 27 but I think approaching 30 is definitely giving me the "what do I want to do with my life" vibes..;) I also work with kids but am looking at where I go next/what I want to do as feeling a bit burnt out with it at the mo! have considered teaching but it sounds even harder at times that what I do already!

hope belle is behaving herself better today! :rotfl:

She's only being naughty because she's teething...I found 2 baby teeth yesterday bless her. It all seems to be happening at once. It's all very sudden. She's a good girl really though...just restless because of the discomfort.

I love my job. I would never have taken it on knowing what I know now, but couldn't give it up yet because it gives so much satisfaction. If that makes any sense whatsoever. I know what you mean, I feel a bit **blah** about life at the minute, but there again I always do here. I really want to leave the country and am feeling pretty trapped at the minute. I HATE HATE HATE it here and where I live. Bah humbug.

Right back to the doctors this afternoon to complain that I'm still not well. We shall see what he says. I'm hoping he'll send me for tests or something just to put my mind at rest if nothing else. I can't understand how I've been this ill for 6 weeks when I've been on blooming holiday!!!

Right, only just back. First I went to the doctors and was given some stronger antibiotics...then he said he wanted to refer me for a chest x-ray, just to be on the safe side. That made me feel a bit happier, at least he's acknowledged that I am actually properly ill now. He heard me cough (I had a coughing fit in his room) and decided that it really shouldn't be this bad after so long...so off I popped.

Anyway after getting all gowned up and dealing with the most miserable radiographer EVER (and a 2 hour wait) I got to go home again. Wait 10 days for xray results apparently. Soooooo I'm hoping that the antibiotics do there thing before then so that I can not worry about getting the results. I doubt there will be anything there though, I think its a sinus thing now. :rotfl:

It has scuppered my getting ready for school plans though so that I can have tomorrow off. Boo.

Better than trying to squeeze in the x ray next week though. Hope all is clear.
  • Hey twinklie
hope they get to the bottom of what is making you feel rubbish soon and the antibiotics kick in fast!
bless belle and the teething, I am getting v broody for a puppy at the mo, but need to get a house first, and a job that would let me be available/near to home for it..so not for a while!
I think sometime the run up to thirty is like my quarter life crisis! I have enjoyed the work I do for a long time, but the last year for various reasons has been pretty tough (a lot of it issues in the workplace rather than the actual work) ..with all that combined I am contemplating which direction to go in next, but honestly have no idea really....it feels like a scary jump to make from something very vocational (like teaching) into the elusive world of "whatever other people do for work"!.... am seriously thinking of taking the plunge tho and for me that has been a massive push with the MFW thing so I can take risks whilst at the same time feeing secure enough financially to do so...

sorry you dont like the place your living at the moment (but on the plus side yay for a nice job!) where would you like to be eventually? did I read somewhere you used to live in the states? I have never been but would love to - I think I watch too many american tv shows and think my life there would be constant coffees and fun! (ps if it is really like that pls let me know and I will start my "move to america" plan right now! ;) )
