Just had homemade pizza made using the recipe for pizza dough from the sd255 book not the one that came with my machine (sd253). I swapped the strong white flour for tesco value and my eldest DS who is nearly 6 and a bit of a pizza expert (it's his favourite) said it was the best pizza ever even better than the Dominoes one he had at Grandad's house last week:j and better than the school dinners pizza which he also loves:D .0

Wow, that does look like a wonderful loaf!
Brilliant.

My breadmaker is a Morphy Richards compact, sorry not part of the Panny club yet! But I just wanted to say that the recipes for that ask for 2.5 tbsp of sugar (1.5lb basic white loaf) and the 1.5lb sandwich loaf asks for 3! I take it from the comments on here that is a lot of sugar? It did seem it for the sandwich loaf which tasted like cake...0

I've just made a second loaf from a mix (500g cheese & onion) - followed the instructions exactly (basic/bake rapid/large as per the booklet) but knocked 10mls of water off as suggested - and got the same problem of the crust being sat separately on a cushion of air, in fact if anything it's a little worse. I can live with this if it never improves, but does anyone have any other suggestions?0

Well, I've had the most successful loaf yet! I don't know what I did different from yesterday, apart from watching it for 40minutes and making sure all the flour was mixed properly. Everyone agreed it was a fantastic loaf! Just hope it works again tomorrow.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0

I,ve had my Panny for a week today!!
I've made white bread and 50/50 seeded loaves and dough to make rolls.
They've all been successful and I have just followed the recipes in the book.

Hi,
I just got my first Panasonic SD254 today and am making a wholemeal loaf now. However, after 35 mins, the kneading blade is still not moving.
Is it normal for wholemeal loaf?0 -
Don't panic!! Except on the fastbake setting, the machine *rests* for about 40 minutes before starting up:D Check out the chart where it lists all the progs. Check page 13;)
Just checked myself, goodness it can be over an hour!!!!!You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
hey noodlepoodle don't worry, I made my first wholemeal last night, and the machine just does nothing for about 40 minuted for some reason, and then leaps into action toproduce another fab loaf!0
