Quick question please. I have a loaf just cooling - what is the best way to store it if it is still slightly warm when I want to go to bed ? TIA
I usually leave mine to cool on a wire cooling rack and cover it with a clean teatowel. Then later I store mine in my empty slowcooker cos I havent got a breadbin:D0 -
I bought my man the 39.99 Panna (pet name from now on) as its a female one as opposed to Panny my male one. (sorry in stupid mood today). Anyway I reckon he is scared of it. He had an old Cookworks one and used to use bread mixes in it and they never really worked out.
So yesterday he buys two packets of bread mix for breadmakers from Morrisons for 74p or thereabouts which is quite a bargain I would say. Just thought I'd say incase anyone is interested.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

I think I may have been overreacting about the airpockets because when I slice the bread I can't see them; I guess I have to get used to the bread being extra-spongy and bouncy when I poke it. Yesterday's cheese and onion mix is lovely; DH was very impressed. Anything left over I've decided to turn into a big bag of breadcrumbs ready for pasta bakes. I tell you, I'd be lost with my Lakeland Klippits!0

If anyone has though about using the French Bread recipe - just do it!
Amazing light inside with a lovely lightly crunchy crust - best one I've made so far0 -
It was a Wrights 500g mix; 75p from Tesco this week. Next time I'll have a go at creating my own.0
