  • Hi, there! When I make pizza bases I use about 75g flour per person.

  • Hi there, when I use the recipe in the Panny book, it makes one large pizza. I normally double it up and make 2 large pizzas - this feeds 2 adults and 1 9 year old on a Saturday night - mind you we are quite greedy ;)
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

Do you double the quantities in the BM or do you make the book recipe twice?

I'm fed up with mine. Where did i go wrong today? I followed a recipe that someone else had posted, I read it last week, so it was 500g pantry maid bread mix + 320ml lukewarm water. I did this on Sunday, and it was the first really good loaf I've had from the machine since getting it in Dec. I did the same recipe this morning...... 4hrs later, I have a complete soggy mess, with a lump of flour on top. I did put the flour in before the water, but I think the water maybe ran down the sides of the flour mountain. What else can it be? I hate the bleedin' thing. I have to wait 4hrs, just to find out it's a disaster.

Edit: Ignore this, I just found the kneading blade on the dish drainer. Dooooh

I dont know if its different for different bread makers (I dont have a panasonic), but all my instructions say to put the water, liquid in before the flour?

Hope you have a more successful baking day. :j

Panasonic is dry ingredients in first, no idea why but it works well

You could try running it empty, with no ingredients, on a dough programme, and watch the blade to check it turns properly in use. It might tell you if its mixing properly.
I haven't tried running it empty, but it does sound like it's working properly. I'll try it empty and see how it goes.
Sunnyday, yes it does seem to be sitting properly.
I have had a bm before, and I did have wonky loaves with it, but never quite as often or quite as mucked up as happened yesterday.

Aytch, yes, I found it odd putting the dry ingredients in first, but I had noticed from some of the posts in this thread that that seems to be right for the panasonic.
The other odd thing I have noticed, is that the kneading blade is straight, my last machine had a blade with a bend:confused:

Definitely not, if you read most of the posts on this thread. I certainly was excited when I knew I was getting mine, but, for me, that soon wore off. I'm sure it's just me though, that is finding it hard.

Right, I've tried that, and the blade is turning, and it did warm up while on the rest period.....What next??

You can open the lid and watch it while its kneeding (don't open it when proving or cooking). After 10 minutes of starting kneeding it should be whacking a single glutenous lump around the countainer.
