    Thanks Jo1972 for the welcome.
Been talking a good talk about cutting way back on the grog for a while.
Need to do it - feel really sluggish and fed up with myself.

Going to a dance class tonight to help break the routine.

I've always been a golf widow, but then DS took a liking to it a year ago and so I thought I'd better join in or I wouldn't see any of em again! DS is only 5 and already got 2 sets of clubs

Welcome to all the new folks, :T well done to all abstainers/cutting downers and HUGS to everyone who needs them!

I am on day 17 now, as someone else said (sorry I forget who!) the evenings seem really long and I too have been baking like mad, OH and DD are thrilled cos I normally don't eat sweet things but since giving up alcohol have been eating loads!!

Have a fab day everyone :D

Never mind the sweet things, when I'm not drinking I eat loads of everything! Ate a man-sized portion of Thai chicken with basil n chillies last night, OH wasn't impressed cos that meant he didn't get seconds :rotfl:

Not sure if the insides are thanking me today, I did overload slightly with the red chillies

Just spent the last 2 hours cleaning out the fish tank, I'm exhausted and aching, so golf is out. Waiting for DD1 to get home and then I'm taking her down the local coffee shop where hopefully she might be able to get a saturday job, the manager told me yesterday to ask her to pop in. Please cross everything for her, it's really difficult to get part-time work round here at the moment and she's desperate to earn some money (or should I say I'M desperate for her to earn some money....and some responsibility ). It's her birthday tomorrow, she'll be 16   where did the time go

You can say that again!!! Blimey - its like Beccles on a Friday - (thats North Suffolk for Picadilly Circus) ;)

    Welcome Newbies and good luck.

    3 Weeks abstinance Now !!! Trumpets ; Fanfare etc. :j :j

Shopaholic - Yes Evenings do seem much fuller and longer now. (Or who ever said it first - I can't keep up!) They used to just blend into one and disappear. Sleep is better, appetite is better (good in my case) work is better, play is better ... kids are still noisy  Nothing changes there then!

Hope everyone has a great day and a dry and nice evening.

    Best Wishes

    BHB

Hi all- wow so many posts since last night - thanks all for all the good luck messages from all you lovely people..... xx

Well, interview went really well- and I really want the job - no feedback as yet, but quietly confident. Its between me and 3 others but has to go to 2nd interview next week.. NEXT WEEK !! have had to ask for more time at work as am supposed to be making a decision either way before Friday- this is all going to be about timing me thinks .......

can I just say though that cutting back on the booze has given me more confidence in myself, I no longer feel like its a slippery slope downwards if that makes sense. I can and am taking control of my life, and booze. I no longer want to feel rubbish or spend all evening battling how many to have- thinking what I have on tomorrow... I do a lot of driving in my job and manys the time I've had getting on for 1-2 bottles of wine at night then driven 250 miles the next morning feeling rubbish and not concentrating very well. NO MORE !!!

Anyway, I find out if I have a 2nd int later today. The stress continues !!

Barshamhillbilly- wow- 3 weeks, huge respect for you - well done !!
Shopaholic- also, well done 17 days and counting, well done lady
