Thinking long term I feel it is time for a bit of honesty. I dont think I am going to give up altogether. I will have the occasional drink when out Etc. The aim of this is not to drink EVERY night as I was doing.

Me too- I'm not giving up- just getting out of the habit of drinking most days. Nowt wrong with having some when out or at home- but not relying on it.

Well- no go on the 2nd interview. He said with my skills he didn't think I was suitable for this role but there will probably be one coming up in a couple of months. Rubbish !!

Got my counsellor appointment tomorrow at the drug and alcohol centre, considering cancelling it as it did me no good whatsoever last time, in fact it made me worse. What do you all reckon?

Aww Basil, so sorry to hear that, fingers crossed something comes up soon :(

I've just got back from an AA meeting, it was an interesting one, all about acceptance. Although maybe I shouldn't have gone cos the thought of going to the counsellor tomorrow and talk about drinking again just makes me feel down.

Hi all- thanks for all messages- think I've come to a decision- bearing in mind I'm a winner both ways really.... similar job (probably more interesting), same location, bit more money, continous service.. or 11.5K with no other job looming... think I'm going to be sensible and take the job xxx what would everyone else do??
Bearing in mind I get paid well for what I do and these jobs never come up, and if they do they are not as well paid....

    ;)
