Yes I certainly agree about the hangovers - I was getting really cross at myself when I spent a whole day feeling crapola through drinking too much - I've got too much I have to get done and life's too short nowadays to lose days. Not fair for the kids, DH or myself.

    Hello everybody.
    Hope you are all ok.
I am on day three AGAIN, but feeling really positive.
After a really bad week last week due to celebrations I have started again.
No more celebrations now so will be ok.....I think.
Anyway, well done to those succeeding in giving up/ cutting down and also well done to everyone who is failing at the moment but carrying on reading this thread.
Inspiration will come to you again soon.Just keep trying.....
    and that includes you Lurkio!!!!!;)
I have put three pounds on with all the booze last week and have gone above my target weight so need to loose it for next week or will have to pay for class (Not very moneysaving)
    Good luck

    Good morning :hello:

Day 5 for me today. Mind you I am at work so that is the norm. Come off Saturday morning and am off for 2 weeks. My aim is to cut down dramatically my booze intake during that time.

    Have a good day

  • Thanks for the suggestion AB. I am using Tiger Balm - Similar effect - stings alot more :rotfl: :rotfl: .

I gave up the cigs 20 years ago - when I had flu. Had it quite bad for a fortnight - couldn't face one - HAven't touched one since. Perhaps it will keep me of the booze too ;)

    HAve a good one

Morning all- on Day 6 here and off to rosemary conleys diet and exercise class tonight to be [strike]humiliated[/strike] weighed.... Feel like I've lost a bit of weight already though from staying off the booze.

It's a wonderful sunny day here, nice not to feel rubbish every single morning !! also, got a lot on at work at the mo and feel like I'm getting sooo much more done this week !! All in all, very positive.

Saturday night'll be the test- spending the night with my sister- usually we get through at least 4 bottles     wine- not vodka:rotfl: :rotfl:
    Have a good day all

Hi all....nice to see you are all doing well:T

I've been ill for the last two days, but last night I could have screamed!!

My BF who has a big drink problem decided to have more than the odd can! He was so abusive, verbally, and twisted what I was saying, turning anything I said into a row, even though I was calm and couldn't understand where all the venem was coming from!

I don't think I can take much more of this. He blames everyone for the things that go on in his life. Not taking responsability for his own actions. I have told him that there are consequences for his actions, and the way he was with me last night, are such that I don't think I want to be with him anymore.

He seems to push everyone away so that he can feel unloved and justify that no one cares about him. But he does it himself.

Sorry to have gone on, but I needed to get this off my chest as there is no one I can talk to about this.

I have stayed stong and didn't run to the bottle which is a first for me, so some good has come out of this!
