    Hi all

    bye all

I don't think I'm ready for this yet... that or I'm in complete denial and I have a MAJOR problem. Either way i can't keep coming on here and saying "day 1 for me" everytime, so I'll stop posting on this thread for a while...

So proud (and probably quite jealous) of those of you who are succeeding. Well done and hope to catch up with you at some stage :T :T :T :T

Lurky, get back here right this minute! It's bluddy hard, we all know that, bask in the sober vibes and jump back on the wagon when you feel ready :)

BHB, you've got it as well? I woke up this morning without any voice and a really sore throat (OH is quite pleased ), I've been ill for 4 months solid since starting work in a school. I'm sure all those kids are harbouring disease to pass on to me

AB, I absolutely find drinking harder to stop than smoking, I think it's because you can be totally open with everyone and there's tons of NRT when quitting the weed, but with drinking, you're on your own mate, unless you decide to go down the counselling/meetings route - even then you're pretty much on your own as there's no drugs to take the cravings away.....well, apart from Libruim (sp?), but by the time you've got to the detox stage you're in trouble anyway. The Libruim never worked for me obviously

Nearly-There, I didn't reallise you were living with such huge temptation, well done to you hun for not giving in last night, keep up the fantastic work :T

Well, I didn't abstain completely yesterday but I only had one which I had left from the day before. So although it's disappointing I can't say day 2, it's still a huge step for me so not too upset.

Panicking about tomorrow now though, going out tomorrow evening with my oldest bestest mate, she booked us tickets to see Avenue Q for my birthday. She just text me, as she knows I'm off work this week, she said why not go round to her's first then we'll go to Browns for pre-theatre dinner. She's a big drinker, I know if I say I'm not doing it she won't push it but I think I've forgotten how to enjoy a night out without getting !!!!!! Although don't have much money to spare as went out with mum and kids yesterday and instead of mum taking me shopping to buy summat for my birthday, we spent 4 hours looking for a prom dress for DD1  I spent almost £200 on a dress, shoes and a bag

Hope you all have a great day x

Well I think it started a few years ago in the uni's but now even normal secondary schools have adopted it

Oh, and never mind the couple of hundred on the dress, shoes and bag. We had to pay £30 for a ticket to go in the first place and they're all going in a stretch limo, she's only 15
