    oops.

bottle of wine drunk last night. Walk to the shop. Bought another bottle of wine. Would appear I finished that too. Thank god I was at home.

Not good. Thought I was doing so well, cutting right down, able to just have a nice glass of wine with dinner etc.

Off the booze for a while again then! Will have a glass or two this weekend, but won't go too mad, I KNOW I can do this. Just need to practice!

:) Thanks ISOM - I have been doing really well recently with the cutting down - think last night was a blip!! Feeling fine now and yes, not good to have that much - but at least I was at home, I know it was foolish, and my resolve to limit the drink has kicked back in!!

  • Hi All

Have been mostly eating flapjacks today and all evening.....................got a really sweet tooth today and a bad headache.....................really, really, really want a glass of wine, but know that one glass won't be enough....................is this a carbs craving just as much as an alcohol one? ....................I'm hanging in there though. It helps that I'm on taxi duty. But what's even more helpful to me, is coming on here and reading these posts. You guys must be some of the most inspiring people I know - you make me laugh, you make me think and I kinda feel that I'm getting a lot of support too. Thankyou kindly :j
Gonna try and get some shut eye and hopefully some 'timeout' from my cravings.
Take care out there............and be gentle on ourselves.
  • Evening All.

Thansk ISOM. The whole family have it so think its probably some nasty germy thing. We have children hurling all over the place.

Still, I had a nice relaxing lay down during my acupuncture treatment at the support centre tonight. Nice and peaceful with relaxing music for a whole hour..... Bliss. Can thoroughly reccomend this 'getting some help' malarky. Seems to be working for me. Though I did have to look the other way from the 'dreaded isle' in tescos earlier.

Sea - Cutting down seems like a good start.

I'm confused about the troll - must have missed a post or two??
Must go back and have another read.

    Hope everyone is OK.

tomstickland, did you find that difficult?
Not really. It's very easy to slip into the habit of drinking because the beer is there. I do love nice ales and some import lagers. By not drinking so often it's about keeping them special. I'm going away for a few days this weekend and will be drinking then.

I've never been in the situation where I had to drink.

I think it's very much a case of doing something to the point at which it's no longer interesting.
    Happy chappy

    Hey everyone,
a dry night here again. I started writing 'that's 4 in a row' and then realised that managing to get through 4 nights without alcohol is actually a very short time even though it feels like aggggessss. Was tempted to call in at my local wine shop on the way home and even thought I could get half a bottle just to limit an damage should things get out of hand....decided to keep on walking. Damn alcohol's pretty persuasive eh.

Sea, I sympathises with the accidental bottle swigging - if only we could judge the glass that'll open the floodgates we would be moderate tipplers!!! just start over.
Where did you get that detox Jo - two dress sizes in two weeks - I need that!

Going to get a nice herbal tea now (and polish my halo:D )

    :) Agree completely!! :)

Feeling positive again now, won't be drinking til this weekend, and will be really strict about it - don't want to spoil my weekend with a hangover!!!

Well done to you all for doing so well!! And i think 4 days is great :)
