Want to say to all of you posters & lurkers, have a good xmas & new year, hope you'll stick to whatever resolutions you might have for the festive season (I'm actually looking forward to avoiding MP's whip  from 1st Jan onwards).

I am going to "retire" for a few days, my Dad died this morning - knew it was on its way still a shock - so....hmmm not sure what to say now. I'm OK, just not being AF in the slightest...spect I'll lurk, but back with a vengeance in New Year. Thanks for the AFJ post Lurkio, love the womo clause invocation!!
Have a good one all of you, thanks to ALL of you for the posts / support / kindness / honesty / humour you've all given. mushy!:xmassmile

mp, eselt, bis, pls be there for us in jan. maybe mp might share the whip (aargh, sorry mp, just a joke :rotfl: )
  • Oh Winebox, I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad. Thinking of you.

Sorry to hear that Winebox, it must still be a big loss even though it was expected. I hope you have as good a Christmas as you can under the circumstances.

I'm not being AF at all. I had two AF days this week, that seems to be all I'm capable of at the minute.

Christmas is looming and I realized today that I am going to save at least £100 this xmas by not buying the usual 'just in case people call' booze...which I always end up drinking myself.
If people are calling round this year they can just bring their own...or do without.:D
Thinking of this I visited QVC online today as I decided I would treat myself to something nice for xmas because I was not buying the booze.
I came across a lovely bracelet that I really liked and the design was....Bismark.:A
I have now ordered this and will be wearing it over the festive season. Each time I am tempted to have a drink I will look at it and maybe I will be reminded of some very wise words of wisdom ;):D

Now just need to find something called ....eselt:rotfl: :rotfl:

Bis bracelets!!! Now that could catch on- we could all wear them with pride as a sign of sobriety- very american, bit like those rubber bracelet things but a bit classier (bit like Bis really?!). Last time I went to Amsterdam they have a brand of liver salts like Andrews over there called eselts...........rather have a nice bracelet I think.

  • Im so sorry about your dad ((((((((((((((((winebox))))))))))))))))) its always a shock even when expected. Take care of yourself.

thinking about adopting wineboxs clause for january as well. that may be the way I can make this a success. The other thing for me will be to link it to money saving and weight loss that way I will be able to see a real result quickly. I think I will get a jar and collect my AFJ money then spend it on the first of Feb. Question is how much will i have to spend? Lots I hope:T :T Loved your bracelet story mollypolly - there is a bracelet I have been lusting after too (its called Pandora I think which is a shame, a needstochange bracelet has such a better ring to it :D )

Hope everyone is ok after what is apparently the worst night of the year for binge drinking (last night) I stayed in but still managed to sink a good few units.

Just wanted to say I seem to be having problems with my thanks button at the moment so thanks to everyone Im not being rude honestly
    29th Feb Quit Day :j
