  • Good morning all

Well its AFD 1 again for me today. Had two glasses of wine last night. How quickly I forget eh? I did stop after two though, which is unheard of for me.

Hope everyone is ok and has more resolve than I seem to.

  • Oh well ...... Day 1 again!
I seem to find it much harder being out of my work routine and seem in 'holiday mode'.

Oh well - chasing you again !!

  • HI all, just a flying visit to check how you are all doing.

Winebox - so sorry about your dad hun, hope you are bearing up ((hugs))

Fay - sorry to hear about your surrogat mum ((hugs))

I had a bit of a sulk in the supermarket when we went to do our Christmas shop and it hit home that I could not indulge in any of my usual drinks, slunk off to the juice aisle and cheered myself up with lots of lovely tropical mixes!! I did have cravings for a couple of days last week but I am happy to say that the thought of alcohol actually makes me want to throw up at the moment! (I do have morning- well all day- sickness though!!)

Had a very guilty and sobering time yesterday when I decided to clear out the cellar and took at least 40 empty wine bottles to the bottle bank:eek: and realised that we have at least that many again to dispose of  that is the proceeds of not too many weeks consumption too - very very scary!!!!!!!

Good luck on your AF journeys today everyone, shall try and pop on in a couple of days

    Merry Christmas xxxxx

Hope all is well with everyone today. watched the wagon go past this weekend and chose not to get aboard:rolleyes:  no chance this week for me so I am focusing on the January challenge now. I have tentatively spoke to a couple of my friends about AFJ and they were surprisingly unsupportive  looks like if I do this I do it on my own.

You'll get plenty of suport right here, ntc ;)

Happy Xmas guy's hope its a sober one for those of you that want it to be. Mine will be and i'm so grateful not to have the fear that i had in my drinking years about getting the drink, drinking the drink, showing me and my loved ones up, and all those others nasty fears i had to live with.

    God bless.

nice to hear from a "newcomer" to the thread.

it's good to be in control and not a slave to the liquid stuff.

looking forward to being myself throughout and I am sure the kids appreciate it too...

This comment reminded me of a very dear friend who sadly died from this disease.
She lived in a bungalow and was storing her used wine bottles in the gutters.

Hi all- can't wait till tommorrow- my dear old dads just arrived to stay for the holidays, my kids are here, I'm still wrapping presents, defrosting stuff for dinner tommorrow, everyones coming round- everythings frantic but normal, I can't believe how lucky I am- I never thought I would be alive to see this christmas, god I'm so lucky, to think I could have missed all this- just beggars belief really, I wouldn't miss this for the world. Come on guys, lets do January AF, lets stop poisoning ourselves, it serves no purpose, none of us deserve a sticky sticky end after all.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE- you are all brilliant!!!!!
