    Morning folks.

So much going on and so little time to say it.

Guess I'm kind of invisiby on the wagon, reins at hand if you're willing.

A key thing that struck me again when reading your posts was that I don't want to drink. This is SO different to I can't and am therefore feeling deprived.

Sometimes I feel an empathy and wave of forgiveness towards myself as I understand why I would have wanted to have one ot loads...but reason prevails and I smile to mysef and think of the bigger picture. It is possible that you can only start to see clearly after a certain age/maturity...one for debate maybe.....

Was interesting to note the similarity in ages - I suppose it makes sense if you think about it.

Relate to the dubious idea of small wine bottles.....surely that just means more empties? I could never have just had one....

Well done to everyone who've tried so hard over the last few days.....I promise you having the choice with the rest of your life is worth the effort.

    Morning all,

Another AFD for me yesterday despite there being an open bottle of wine and my DH having a glass. I just had tea and toast.
Still feeling very tired and lethargic so think I may have a little bug.
Kids have an inset day off school today so I have a crowd of small boys arriving later - wish me luck!

    Morning everyone,

    Bismarck/quote..I DONT WANT TO DRINK.

Horrendous day again with loads of stress re work and DD2.
Driving home from work I just knew I was going to have a whisky when I got in.:o The bottle was calling me...lurking in the kitchen where DH had left it. I kept thinking just one..it wont hurt.No one will ever know if I dont tell them.
I wouldnt even have to tell all on here...you would never know.
This is the first time in ages I have really really wanted to drink.Usually it's just a passing thought ...but not last night.
Anyway, came in,read a few posts on here, argued with myself for ages, sat on hands, ate chocolate(which was a xmas pressie) tea and toast and went to bed.
I am so glad I didnt do it but I do feel very vulnerable.

A question to you Bismarck and Eselt(as two long time abstainers)......do you think we will ever be COMPLETELY FREE of this or has something from the alcohol been planted in us forever.

Sorry about the rambling over the last couple of days.
Well done to everyone trying really hard.
Have a good day...See you later

Well done for the people that had AFD's!

I drank last night and woke up at 2 this morning on the sofa! I had some bad news yesterday morning (a death) and I knew I would drink. My other half walked in from work and said that he was surprised that I hadn't started drinking earlier, I actually waited until 4.30 in the afternoon to start.:o

I think I may drink today as well, hmm not sure. I had 2 AFD's this week already.

  • Well done everyone on the AFDs. WB has given me a great excuse to keep drinking this week as I'm reading her Alan Carr book and it says not to change drinking patterns. What a great excuse, wondering if I can read a line a day and take forever! Although I expect that I would have been drinking this week anyway. Still, not so much wine last night, feeling much better today.

Had a silly image earlier of people looking for wagons down the back of the sofa in the early hours of the morning. Probably won't make sense outside my head but made me chuckle. Sorry to hear about all the bad news everyone is getting though. Don't mean to sound flippant or dismissive

MP, well done for your resistance last night, I am very impressed.

Don't attribute any power to alcohol. Don't give it the life force that it needs to suck you in.

    You don't want it

    You don't need it.

It won't help you and it is a faceless enemy that feels no pain.

Please don't hope for it to go away because you'll end up disappointed.

It was a relationship that wasn't right.

It is over. I've moved on. So have you.

    And I'm not going back.

And I hope you don't either.

    take care

    Bis

  • Will be having a wine tonight with some friends but the good news is I have been sober since Monday night :j so I have no intention of spoiling the good work now, it will be limited tonight. One bottle of white between 4 of us:beer:

I bought loads of lovely non alcky drinks today so I can continue to choose AFDs regularly.
Good luck to all the well behaved peeps tonight and 115K sorry to hear about your news.
